- Mira and Laurie, new hot couple from HBO Max original series "Irma Vep", premieres every Monday on HBO Max.
Plot: Irma Vep revolves around Mira, an American movie star disillusioned by her career and a recent breakup, who comes to France to star as “Irma Vep” in a remake of the French silent film classic Les Vampires. Set against the backdrop of a lurid crime thriller, Mira struggles as the distinctions between herself and the character she plays begin to blur and merge.
Episode 1: When disillusioned A-list Hollywood actress Mira Harberg arrives in Paris to immerse herself in the coveted role of iconic villainous Irma Vep in a remake of Feuillade's The Vampires, an encounter with her former lover Laurie reignites dormant passions. Meanwhile, the project's acclaimed director Rene Vidal struggles as production woes threaten to derail his vision.
Episode 2 premieres on Monday, June 13th around 9pm EST, on HBO Max

we clearly see that they have a pretty huge thing for each other. The only toxicity i get from them is that Mira only fucked Laurie for "fun" but Laurie had very strong feelings for her. Mira clearly ignored her feelings and didn´t worship Laurie as a person and really really hurt her feelings. I love to see how Laurie does the same now with letting her wait and lead her on, it´s such a satisfying thing to see! I´m excited to see where the show brings us and these two dorks :)

I'm very interested to see who really was the domineering type in their relationship. Laurie says multiple times that it was Mira, but the way Mira acts around Laurie gives us the sense that it might not be true. But it really caught my attention in this episode where Laurie calls out how Mira was controlling especially when she was drunk and Mira mentions her sobriety. That's something that needs a few flashback episodes. Its pretty clear too when you get through the rest of the episodes that Mira's got some crazy shit going on in her head too at times.
I feel like Mira had the upper hand when they were together, especially when laurie was her assistant, that couldve been degrading (in a sexual way or not). But since breaking up I think that laurie has gotten her confidence back and mira is just so caught up in missing her that she will do anything
These 2 so toxic and Laurie is petty 😂. Clearly only cared about themselves and nobody else (their partners) outside of the both of them! But I live for the toxic love-hate carelessness between them
It does have a vibe of i am giving you a dose of the medicine you served me when we were together. (the waiting in the hotel lobby just to to disappear a few minutes later...) that being said, and that is what i like in the show, is that we don't know yet who is the "goody" and what role the french actress (the one the male lead is trying to engineer a sex scene with) will end up playing in all that.

So we didn't know that we needed Alicia to play a lesbian... And we are already too much obsessed with her character despite the fact that her character is kinda toxic but I think it is less than Laurie! Besides that, the chemistry is super hot, you literally need ac to watch the show comfortably 😝😝

I love Mira but I wonder if she really was “abusive” in the relationship based on Laurie’s comments about her being scary especially when she’s drunk.
Even in this clip, you see Mira’s contained rage. Look at the look on her face when Laurie brought up open relationships. I can imagine how she is when drunk.

These early scenes in episode one gives the audience a quick history of their relationship, paving the way for much more confusing emotions and manipulation. Watching the intimate dialogue between the two characters on the rooftop during the party, the camel cigarette pack and bic lighter on the table changes positions about five times (poor continuity) looks like the few minutes of viewing time required actual hours of production from the actors with many different takes.

Mira gives me spiral vibes I can’t call her toxic I can call her scared and dumb. It’s obvious she couldn’t juggle the actually good feelings she had with Laurie and that’s probably why Laurie constantly diverts to just feeling like she was being fucked and not loved. Mira more than likely loved her but didn’t realize what it was until it was too late I also believe there was an agreement neither could hold up to and miscommunication maybe it was never meant to be anything more than fun and shot got serious that leads to a lot of problems and the “controlling” aspect is out of fear I don’t think it’s the type of control people automatically assume it to be it could very well just be something once again rooted in fear. When she would’ve essentially been working out her feelings for Laurie she tried to keep her to herself because she more than likely realized Laurie was good for her and good to her and she’s not used to good things
she thinks open relationships should be one sided in this episode how cant you say she is not toxic after that?

They both claim the other was unfaithful but in my opinion, Mira shouldn't have made their relationship open and only allowed herself to be with other people. It sounds as if Mira warned Laurie beforehand that she never intended to be monogamous and Laurie just went with it? Just a strange conversation and relationship history all around.
@@soobders6142 Maybe Laurie thought of it as just a hot affair with the boss and assumed they were not being exclusive because, you know, "it's just sex"...but then she started having feelings.... It seems that Mira didn't pick up on Laurie's feelings; seems like she was quite callous and self-absorbed. But apparently, she "caught feelings", too, and was hurt and jealous when Laurie ran off with the director guy and married him.
