As someone working in the customer service field, I felt this way too much. Yeah, I'm on the verge of having a panic attack but I can't cause it'll inconvenience the customers
OH MY GOSH - the shellfish allergy - my cousin did something similar once. We were at a Friendsgiving celebration and someone put a spoonful of something on her plate that she was allergic to. She knew what it was and ate it anyways because, as she said later after a trip to the ER, she didn't want them to feel bad.
Years ago, a girl came to my house to hang out. As time went on, she started getting sick: sneezing, water eyes, red skin...the works. Turns out she was allergic to our animals. We were like, "Hey, maybe you should leave." She kept insisting that she was having a good time, her grandma had pets, and that it wasn't so bad and on and on. Eventually, I had to kick her out cuz she looked like she was gonna die. I had no intention of having to take this girl, who I barely knew, to the hospital. I never saw her again. Her name is Mallory and to this day when we recall the story, we call her 'Mallergy'.
That’s crazy! I’m glad she’s okay. she really risked her life to protect someone else’s feelings. I hope she doesn’t do it again. It’s not worth it, ya know. They’ll feel bad that she hurt herself for them over something minuscule.
@@Kattywagon29 that happens to me every Christmas when we have our family party at my aunt-in-law’s house who has a thousand cats. I start dying, she gives me benedryl, then I get all loopy and barely make it to the gift exchange and we leave as quickly as possible after dessert. Merry Christmas! 😂
Ok. Watching part 1 and 2 together, I’m blown away. It’s me. I have no idea how to be anything but a people pleaser. Twice this week I went to dinner with people at the two restaurants I hate the most, just because I felt like I needed to keep everyone happy. 🤦♂️

Same. So glad I am mostly out of that zone. Phew. TIPS 1.For people asking for help that you can’t honestly help, say no, apologize and nicely say I’ll pray (to fellow Christians) or in general just say I’ll be on the lookout for someone else who can help. This has been the solution on such matters for now. It’s helped me transition well out of people pleasing without guilt. 2. For things you don’t want to do eg eat sushi, apologize and say the truth. It softens the blow. 3. Regarding money , talk about it clearly. I can tell you that once I became an employer I now advise Everyone to speak about it. The company is too busy to care about what you deserve. unless you are already in the top spot people won’t care in most cases or have time or care. So just ask politely. When you ask, justify it using comparators from the market. Ask for a jagged number that is an average of what others would pay you eg ask for an increase of 1237 not 1200 per month. It’s a psychological thing that shows you crunched numbers. When you do your home work, ask for a jagged not rounded number, you earn the employer s respect and usually get the raise.
@@snaxicakes lol the stress of being a people pleaser had me thinking that I was on the verge of having a heart attack.
