I noticed that Pibby was corrupted, but he didn't switched sides, meaning that the purple corruption is still kinda against the Darkness, or Pibby somehow controlles the corruption over his body and using it as extra layer of protection.
I have a feeling that the source of the corruption no longer exists ( monster) and the corruption is just a layer of liquid with no control as the glitch completely override it so pibby is just normal no loss of control at all
