Hey, it’s Jay who did your boat licence and thought I’d say gday I’m planning on a trip to peel island so watched your video which was helpful! Keep up the good work! Also beautiful boat!
Another great video. It’s a pity you cannot keep the camera rolling whilst you are actually anchoring and letting out the chain. I see you are using a snubber. So it would be interesting to see you rigging this. Interested that you do not bother to uncover the VHF. I think you have mentioned that you do not receive weather bulletins by VHF? Or that the VHF is used for boat to boat communications? The anchorage looks a lovely spot and really envy you the light winds and sunshine ! Any chance of a video showing you cooking your favourite meals on board? Good to see the dogs so happy to be onboard. Thanks again for another great video and look forward to the next one.
Hi John, I'm wanting to do an anchoring video and get a drone up whilst we are in action. Brooke has quite an array of signals for me to control the boat whilst dropping and picking up. As for the VHF, we are in partially smooth waters so it isn't a requirement. Also in full mobile and data range so use the phone to check weather and winds. If we were going offshore definately would have the VHF on. We are having some holidays and hopefully some longer range boating over Christmas so some cooking will be included! Hope all is well.
Thanks guys. Just subscribed. Love how you comment on tides, winds, depths, fuel consumption, anchorages etc. It is unique perspective whilst underway, so you have created a good niche for yourself and a tremendous help to locals. Looking forward to a video on the Gutter Bar at Kooringal. I believe getting in and out is tricky with sandbars, so keen to see how you handle the navigation in and out and if there is a good anchorage there. I have seen drone shots of 60 foot plus boats in there so it can't be that hard. Thanks very much.
Thanks John. Hard to know if people want all the tech info but it is what you need to know if you're going to stay overnight on the hook. Haven't stayed at kooringal, need to investigate. Thanks for your comment

Hi Jay! Thanks for watching our video, glad it was helpful. Hope to see you on the water soon :)
Thanks Guys , great video’s . Approximately how far is Peel Island from the Seaway ?
About 90min depending on speed. There are a few bits to go slow - millionaires row and past Russell island. Hope that helps

@@TheRudder This might help, but they don't give any insights as to going in and out from the GC side.

"Aren't any" sharks in Moreton Bay? Think again!
You don't talk about sharks with ocean swimmers!😆
Peel Island isn't an anchorage of the gold coast it's not even in gold coast shire....
That is true, but it is an easy trip from the GC.
