It's not just limited to sports. The US Presidential Elections held every four years. In fact most countries have four year political terms. Heck, even our calendar is based on number four i.e. leap years.
This World Cup won’t just be unique for being held in the winter and in an Arab nation. It will also be unique as Qatar will be the first side since Italy in 1934 to host the WC without playing at a previous tournament although Japan who were awarded the 2002 edition with Korea in 1996 made their debut in 1998. But what makes it more interesting that this will likely be Qatar’s first and only WC finals appearance even with the tournament being extended to 48 teams from 2026.
Because it's too far inbetween if every 8th year, and to give room for other continental tournaments, you cannot have it annually or every 2nd year, or else the palyer's won't get any rest at all.
It's great that you have either the Euros or the World cup every other year, keeps them both special, but not too much waiting. Like it would be if it was only the World cup every 4 years.

30 spots
One for the host
One for the previous World Cup winner
Just because, nice video
Also, its set not to clash with the Olympics, which started way before World Cup.
4 years is the perfect gap
I always thought it was to make the FIFA World Cup separate from the Olympics.
Why? It has something to do with the number four itself, as the unique number that has the same number of letters as its value. The number that reverberates across the Universe. It's not just the World Cup, it's also the Olympics, the Euros, the AU, Asian Cups, Cricket World Cup, the US Presidential Elections, the list goes on and on.
4 seasons in a year
4 cardinal directions
4 suits in a deck
4 fundamental forces of the Universe
4 states of matter
4 grand slams in tennis
4 grand slams in golf
Isn’t it 30 slots they compete for, I thought the holders automatically qualified, or has it changed ?
Can you do a vid on how players get drafted for the World Cup 😊
It may be 4 years but Look at it like this, you have the summer Olympics and fifa world cup, 2years after olympics (2020) is fifa world cup(2022) then repeat 2years again is olympics (2024)
So sad that Italy is again not in the World cup
of course if you asked any sane fan they would like to see matches like this every two years but sadly it can’t go our way
it's good in every 4 years
That's why it's have the most value
Why not combine WC Qualification into the Continental championships. Boom, huge time saver.
I hope Argentina can win this for sure!!!!!!!! This is my biggest prediction so far!!!!!!
Here are top 3 thinking why they should be:
1. Winning the world cup can help honor the late and legendary Argentinan footballer Diego Maradona, who died in 2020.
2. Argentina could become the top 5 most winning trophy World Cup, rivaling with Brazil even further.
3. Dybala is the one player who can score the final goal due to his prospect.
Argentina with the win
Footballers names spelt in Arabic are
ايمي مارتينيس
ليونيل ميسي
كريستيانو رونالدو
كيليان امبابي
ديديي ديشام
Because they need time to build the stadium and Olympics and world championships happens in between
Brazil, Argentina or France 🥇
Well this didn’t age well , maybe Portugal ? 😂😂
