As a Cowboy fan since I watched them beat up on the Dolphins back in the Super Bowl 71, these classic vids bring back so many great and some painful memories. However, if you have watched the Cowboys for as long as I have they have had so many more GREAT memories than the painful ones. Cowboy fan until I take my last breath, but I can't stand Jerry Jones.
@Harry Engel very true. They got off to a good start in '86 but once Danny got hurt the season went downhill fast. That should've been a playoff team for sure. Maybe '87 too if the strike doesn't happen.
@@lookonthebrightsideoflife5200 I meant they would have been one and done regardless if Danny White stayed healthy in ‘86 and ‘87 had there been no strike.
@@ericradford2142 likely but we'll never know for sure. 1986 was their last chance but once White went down it was over. There was hope after 1987 that they'd be on the right track but the bottom fell out in 1988. But the Giants, Bears, and Niners were too good that it's highly unlikely they beat any of them had they made it to the playoffs in those years.
This was a fun season. The last good year of the Landry era, before the Giants, Redskins, and Eagles buried them for the rest of the decade. Lots of big plays and exciting games.
Because you have a bunch of glorified running backs playing the quarterback position. With a few exceptions,There isn't anyone that throws the ball more than 10yards down field enough to be picked off that many times.
My dad had season tickets every year from 1960 to 1992. I was 11 in 85 & asked could I go to the Bears game. He said "No son, you better sit this one out" 🤣. As I watched that game on TV I was glad I missed that beating.
I was 8 years old during this season. It was when I first understood what was going on. I remember them getting killed by the Bears. I was amazed by the Bears and how they crushed just about every team. It looked like 20 players were blitzing the quarterback in my 8 year old brain!
@@jakester2862 I remember times getting mad when the Cowboys or Mavs lose big games. I have learned that it is just a game and I try not to get too upset anymore.
Pittsburgh had a five game winning streak against Dallas, not seven. They beat the Cowboys in the two Super Bowls, X and XII, and regular season games in 1977, 1979 and 1982. All the more gratifying, 27-13.

This is essentially the last gasp of the Landry Cowboys here. Good enough to win the division, but they flamed out against the Rams and Eric Dickerson which they had no answer to. The next year, the Cowboys would start 6-2 and play the 6-2 Giants. Danny White was blindsided by a Carl Banks hit and Danny White broke his wrist. In 1987, the Cowboys would go 7-8 and in 88 they would go 3-13. Jerry Jones would buy the team and Landry was gone after that.

Landry's best coaching job since the dirty dozen season of 75. He got the most of almost every one.

Nah he would’ve been put in long ago
@@paleo704 he deserves a spot.
He certainly should be, one of only 2 men to lead the league in interceptions three separate times!
A great game changer. Am very happy he was also on the Super Bowl Giants team as well...surely that made Giants Alumni Tom Landry proud.

When Tony Dorset played, he ran with the football, sure could change direction of where he was running.

Did you know the reason Jerry Rice wore # 80, it's because of Tony Hill. Jerry really looked up to Tony Hill.
and Lawrence Taylor wore #56 because of Thomas Henderson
Which is one of the reasons why Rice wanted the Cowboys to draft him.
