  • Shane Doak brings us this incredible 1/48 Eduard Zlin Z-126 Trenér, No. 82181-all opened up and superdetailed! He opens up the engines, drops the flaps, and details the cockpit of this Czech training aircraft.

    Beautiful model and very nice presentation. You have used many techniques and give quite a few tips during the build. The one thing I have to bring up is the synching of what you are talking about along with the actual visuals shown at the time. Two marvellous threads of information that rarely back each other up.

    Very nice Shane! You make it look easy, when I know getting even the basics can be a challenge sometimes. I like that you chose to build an off-brand aircraft, like a Czech Zlin, vs the standard P-51 (which is fine in itself). I also am a fan of Eduard's new removable decal carrier film.

    Weathering is too heavy. Doesn't look like the full scale flying examples. Granted, those are hanger queens but a trainer in active service would be kept pretty clean and probably hangered when not flying. Nonetheless, the weathering techniques the talent employed are interesting and valuable.
