Good Evening Josh. You are looking very Well and I always Enjoy watching your Finest detailed Fabrication of repairing parts of the Project that you are doing Work or just Tidying up the Body work. Your step-by-step vehicle Restoration is absolutely Excellent. Top Class Golden Workmanship. I really Love your Attitude and you have this Superb Can Do This Attitude Josh. I am really Proud of what you have become now Josh. I Salute You my Friend. Big Respect to You. Jonathan/ Peterborough.
Nice repair Josh. As others are saying, I've had to do the exact same repair on my 535i. At the time I did it, I was attending an evening course for car restoration at Bolton College. I did three of them, they were really good, and gave you access to some nice bits of tooling. So with the aid of a fly press and some 3mm steel plate, I re-created the strengthening plates that mate up with the factory jack supplied with the car.
Just came across your channel. Taking into mind what you are dealing with the repair is 1st class and has added another 10 years on the road to a car that Had a 1 way ticket to a scrap yard. Good work.
Hi Josh, I like the way you take the time to show us the full indepth procedure of what really goes into these seemingly small jobs, but as you point out, they are time consuming and expensive to get right. Every days a learning day, well done Josh.
Great fabrication again josh going to be the makings of a good car aye ......👍 Looking forward to seeing more in depth how you repair the structure of each car ...stay cool 😎
I know its a pain, but you got to just grit your teeth and crack on, concentrate on area by area. But in the end its worth it, just so satisfying seeing the work you've done once it's finished
Fascinating watching you work Josh, methodical, skilled and professional. I was really impressed with the repair and fabrication at the rear and the front was just as good. I'd be extremely happy with the standard of repair if it was my e34. Even though most of your efforts will be hidden by the plastic sill cover, it's the satisfaction that the car now has extended life and the job has been done properly and there'd be no qualms about jacking it up at those points. New project, Merc 190e perhaps or are we sticking with beemers, if so an E21? Thanks for making all the content, all the time spent filming, editing, uploading etc.👍😎
Coming from someone like me who can't weld but would love to have the knowledge I really enjoy your welding you make it look so easy great metal work josh as always
Really enjoyed that one, very well put together vid, easy on the eye. Maybe its your editing but it seems like you're faster to a good solution and faster implementing it... looks more slick. Feels like you're almost enjoying that type of work 🤔. Great stuff,, thanks for making it.
When the time came to sell my E34 M5 the buyer wanted me to take pics of the jack points underneath. Had no idea that was a common problem area but, luckily, mine had little to no corrosion there. Also sold my E34 Touring with M pieces and E36 S52 M3 engine & auto. Had that car 14 years and loved it. Nice job showing the repair process. That's exactly how I would have done it. ;-)
You always do a brilliant job. I cannot help but think an air chisel will make your life so much easier they have different changeable ends your be amazed how good they are. At least I think there great although I don’t quite do the same work as you.
I’ve use them in the past, sometimes they’re just a little aggressive for what i need and can damage stuff, me holding the hammer i can regulate the force hahab
Mate, you’re doing a great job! I love old Beemers and I love what you do, they’ll always be the rivet counters that turn their nose up, but honestly, you are doing a great job. So much so, I’m considering offering an old gentleman in the village a fair offer for his E34 that sits with rotten rear arches, if you fancy it😂
That’s a near perfect repair mate, looks OEM, even the inner jacking point. Let’s be honest, it’s better than most can do and is a proper job either way. Love the old BMW content, and look forward to you to starting on your E24.
Don’t under self yourself buddy. Welding to any sort of acceptable standard is b*****d hard!!! I’d be well happy if my attempts in the past came out half as good as what you’ve just done 👍 Looking forward to the next install…….
I’m glad you think so Matt! changed up the style recently, had a good response! E34 is the chassis code! bmws all start with E, not sure why! e24 e23 e12 e34 e36 e46 Etc!
nowt wrong with that repair, like you say you try and get a bit better every time , would love to see more videos on the E34 been fully repaired , running mot,d back on the road
So, are you going to do a summary vid summarising the number of hours, parts used etc ? I'm thinking it would help people make the choice of sell / scrap or if they would actually buy one in the first place!
I'm going to try a keep a straight face and say your new project will be a Range Rover and you will drop it onto the rails  Also, 518i manuals are geared quite well.
6 out of 10 is a bit hard in yourself Josh. This was more than sufficient for where it is on the car. Its structurally sound, you cant chase perfection in a place youll never see. Maybe if it was your car and this was a hobby, but you're running a business 👍
Dude josh really after 42 years of my experience if you had more time on it then yeah it's 6 but hold up a minute it's a supporting mount which top class repair structural mind you and it's not at all gone up to a 9.9 for me mate
@Joshwaa___ better than all my labours ever!!! but I am a perfectionist so yeah you can come and work with me ,monthly pay is £love, definitely passed the test 🤣🤣 everyone has a secret love for a old bmw they say na but really it's everyone's dad car well it is now great content
@@Joshwaa___ Doing a car for a customer i certainly make the effort but when doing my flip cars for example a shitty C3 i had booked in for M.O.T and then discovered the sills were rotten because i did a Stevie Wonder inspection on it when i bought it , well thats getting a one hour over lapped sill on it and smoothed out with some fibre filler, it was already scrap when it left the factory.
The way youre dismantling it suggests that you would have been better scrapping it. jesus the way you removed the wipers. ffs man. There was a reference point for the front jacking point before you removed it. There are panels available for jacking point replacement.

Really good to watch the complicated repairs on this car 👌
Glad you liked it!

Glad it was helpful! A lot of people don’t have any idea! it’s arguably the same reason why paint costs so much too.
I wiuld be super happy if my repairs looked that good! Love watching them and picking up tips along the way.
Glad you like them! 😎
As a fellow fabber, bravo! Excellent work on the inner jacking plate
You do put yrself down alot I could watch you for hours. Your work and attention to detail amazes me. Keep doing what you do legend in my eyes ❤
Thank you! I’m just honest 🤣🤣

Awesome work. Don't agree this isn't desirable, I think this model is awesome, perhaps deserves an engine swap though. Love an old wagon.
I agree with you, engine swap then it would be much better
Having done jacking points on my e34 I must say your one was not as bad as mine and you have done a very good job there.
ahh thanks Colin!

Dreadful rust heap and shame about the 4-cyl, but that E34 Touring is a good-looking car. I like that colour too. Is it Malachite Green?
engine swap would be good! i have no idea on colour !

i have an e34 that needs this type of rust repair. I know it's alot of work but needs to be done. only thing is i dont own a car lift :/
