    Did you mill the 360 heads any? How much bottom end power does it have? I have a factory 4bbl 318 in my truck(360 heads), and it's kind of a dog until 2500rpm. I've wondered how the whiplash would do in my motor, because they are supposed to increase cylinder pressure the same as compression.

    • @chadmatson4009
      @chadmatson4009  5 лет назад +2

      Took .003 off the heads, the cam increases compression a lot. At this time I still cant tell you how much power it has since I'm still having tuning issues and possible transmission problems. I'm hoping June is when I can dig into it and get it running perfectly.

    When you say you did Hughes performance top end parts do you mean you got the 318 whiplash kit with the springs and everything?

      yep, like the description says...Springs and lifters are from Hughes. Heads are smog 360 heads machined .004 and rebuilt using brand new valves, retainers and seals.

    How do you like the Hughes whiplash cam? How does it run? This is one of the cams I'm looking at for my 318.

    • @chadmatson4009
      @chadmatson4009  5 лет назад +4

      I'm still dealing with some timing issues, I think my cam or crank gear might be off a tooth. It idles amd spins up great but won't accelerate with a load. Other than that I'm super happy with the cam. Makes the 318 sound like a much larger motor.

      @@chadmatson4009 I'm no mechanic but I was reading the notes on the hughes website. They sell a distributor with the correct curve. It says when ordering the cam ask about the correct curve or timing for distributor if you dont buy their distributor which is already set. Cool sounds good!
