Did you go yet or corona Also i went on my 20th cruise ship and my first norwegian one (Before Only Carnival And Royal Carribean) and i went on the breakaway and the thing that i did not really like compared to carnival and royal carribean ships is the center of the ship is not like a lounge. on carnival there is like a lounge in the center with glass elevators that go through different floors and this ship (Though I never went on it but want to go on that ship, oasis of the seas, and symphony (maybe some other ships i havent seen yet) but the middle of norwegian ships are not usually big and i like it when there is space
We just got back from our cruise, and I have to say I agree with everything you say, except it was next to impossible to find a place to lay or sit out in the sun on the pool and sun decks. If you didn't get there no later than 8:00 AM you were out of luck. I did the go-carts too, but I would trade the carts and laser tag areas for more water and sun activities any day of the week. Best staff of any cruise we've been on and we've cruised plenty.
LOL, I thought you were going to mention the wasted space at the back where the laser tag arena was. I don't know why Norwegian always knocks it out of the park except for that area. For god sakes put a pool or something back there instead of trying to milk passengers for a few more bucks on the voyage. BTW I loved the Galaxy Pavillion (also designed to milk passengers and it worked in my case), was one of my favorite parts of the ship... and everything was working in there except the full sized racecar (because a passenger ripped the steering wheel out of it on the first day). Great ship, but Norwegian is starting to get carried away with there "pay extra" items... This is my 3rd cruise with them but if they keep this trend up I will start to sail other lines that are more "all inclusive".
Based on the title, I am disappointed that the flaw is so minor in my opinion. Seems that Norwegian did not get too much wrong. Good job on getting my attention.

Just got off 2 weeks ago and there was a $49 single day option. Great for the day at sea... we round robin'd the racecars at the end of the night and that alone was worth the $49 for me. Also be sure to try "The Decent" it is hands down one of the best VR experiences I have ever tried (and I do a lot of VR). Also, don't miss the 3D shootup up tucked away in the back. It is not VR (think 3D movie instead, only you get to shoot things) It was awesome as well. If you are prone to motion sickness, you may want to stay away however... it can make you sick quickly, especially in rough seas.
Just got back from a Caribbean cruise on the Encore. Great looking ship, but somewhat disappointing. Almost all the Broadway shows were completely sold out within minutes of boarding the ship. Honestly no excuse for this with 7 days on the ship and only a handful of shows available. Also, the specialty dining rooms were all sold out within the first 3 days of a 7 day cruise. On top of that, the food at the ones we were able to eat at was average at best. Almost everything closes at midnight for some reason. If I’m stuck onboard with no other option, why isn’t everything open 24 hours? There was a lot to like about the ship too, but unfortunately for me the bad outweighed the good. Sorry for being a Debbie Downer.
Thanks for sharing. Sorry that your trip didn't go as planned. One tip for the future, even if you don't have a reservation for a dining room, it's worth it to stop by and see if there is a no-show. Sometimes they can squeeze you in.
Mike there are many ways to avoid the bad parts you experienced but you have to plan ahead on the mega ships. First time I sailed a mega ship from a normal big ship like Gem, I was thoroughly surprised as well. I’m an avid NCL fan but I had to learn too. And after midnight there’s always activities! Maybe you were in the wrong spot! Lol
You didnt like my favorite spot on the ship... The Galaxy pavilion was awesome! Every single machine there was custom built for the Encore, all of them are a 1 of 1
Just remember- if they don’t charge for the race track, you will never get a chance to go on. When it was 7.99 a couple years ago, you couldn’t get on.
Lol true I live here in the north East where we get snow all the time and the salt crystals do nothing but due your eyes and nose trust me , now the snow room is kinda cool if you live in a place where it does not snow I guess but if you live where it snows it no big deal

I think we'd rather a pool over the laser tag. Don't mess with our go-carts, though.
I was on the transatlantic first Voyage. Everything was wonderful, including the 42' seas it handled wonderfully

Is it really the largest ship? I thought RCCL Symphony of the Seas was. Over 6,000 passengers on that thing.
