I've got an exam coming up, what level of nakedness is ok for a dermatologist? I've read where some times they prefer total nudity with no gown, if the patient is ok with that. Then orher times where a partial exam is given where a total exam is desired for a complete screening of possible cancers

It really depends on the case, and what the patient feels comfortable with. We can work around clothes, gowns, etc. if need be! It's also recommended that patients do their own self-exams at home throughout the year to keep an eye on any concerning areas they may be uncomfortable exposing during a doctor's visit.
