Gold Rush is a TV series that follows the gold mining efforts of several family-run mining companies in the Klondike Region of Canada. Chris Doumitt appeared in the TV series in its first season. Not as a miner but as a carpenter asked to build a cabin for Greg Remsburg and his family. That job was supposed to take ten days, but Doumitt stayed for five months and became part of the Hoffman crew. During that time, Chris learned how to mine gold by trial and error.
Doumitt is one of the show's last original cast members, but he's not showing any signs of stopping. Since he accidentally became a miner, Chris has always been a valuable member of his crew. He once repaired one of boss Parker Schnabel's pumps, securing gold worth about $600,000.
Chris has a personality that has earned him some criticism on the show, but there is more to this former carpenter than mining precious metals on live TV. Behind that cheerful personality and macho looks is a man who has suffered some measure of tragedy that has changed his life. Let’s dive into what really happened to Chris Doumitt

Very underrated show, though if you've seen one, youve seen em all. "What? Part of the rig is messed up?" - said by everyone in every episode...but the people in the show are why I watch. I like to know the reasons why they went all that way to maybe make some money that season.

I don't blame him for leaving Yod for Parker. He's getting that paper.

Chris is a good man well respected and trusted and parkers outfit. Don't dig too deep and the people's personal lives because to me it's an invasion. I know they signed a contract but give them some space please.
