      @@scottschultz1961 And a non-drinker. That may have been even more important. I also read years ago that he always washed his face only with Ivory soap back when he was in his 30's. Don't know if that's true or not, but something sure preserved his skin.

Henry is razor sharp himself and was wowed by Bill's clarity, fun and honesty.
      What happened between him and Nimoy was between them and has NOTHING to do with us. Ya can't tell me you've never fallen out with a friend and both being "It wasn't me it was you...." about it.

    • @amsidols
      @amsidols 4 года назад +5

      Darrell Hart I saw a piece lately about Nimoy and it explained the difficulty he had with COPD, so it’s entirely possible that he stopped talking with Shatner (and apparently his own son) for the same reason - just too exhausted to manage it. I saw a late interview in which Nimoy admitted his lifelong friendship with Shatner too, so I’m willing to believe there were no hard feelings between them when Nimoy passed.
      Personally, I had a dear friend pass from the same condition as an old man when I was just 20ish, and there was a degree of embarrassment he had to put aside just to see me. Perhaps it was the same for Nimoy?
      That time with my friend was the greatest gift a friend can share. His presence.
      RIP Mr Relle and Leonard Nimoy. I love them both. And I love Shatner. (Be generous with love and life will reward you!)

    The restricted activities of the pandemic have caused me to spend way more time on line than I ever did before. Shatner just turned 90 and he did this interview a couple of years ago, but I guess I clicked on it because the RUclips algorithm suggested it, since I just listened to a more recent interview. It was interesting to hear him. I remember I read a book he wrote a few years back, where he said the key to his success is always saying, "yes". "Yes" opens doors. "No", closes them. Smart advice.
    Fame and wealth have eluded me, but I have a great family. We've been married 47 years and my son and his wife just had twin granddaughters. I can't even imagine what it's like to a successful celebrity, but he seems to be at peace with his life and I hope I can still feel as good about my life, when I'm 90 (18 years from now).

    In Canada, the government appoints the Queen's representative in Canada - the Governor General - for a term of 5 years. The Governor General is largely a ceremonial position, but is responsible for conducting the fair and smooth operation of parliament. A few years back, when the Governor General's term was due to expire, there were some serious inquiries into asking / attracting William Shatner to be come the Governor General. Sadly, he said he was flattered, but too busy to take the honor. Over the years, his name comes up in consideration.

    Leonard Nimoy's appearance of aloofness from son and William may have been triggered when he was diagnosed with cancer. Those things can really set a person back, to a pause others see as a possible offense taken, when it isn't. Although, I don't know the timing of his discovery relative to Willam's notice of relational aloofness. Something William may want to consider.

    7:44 - Negative. It was actually 2 years ago during the Destination Star Trek tour. He might not have spoken to Takei but definitely 'saw him in person'. Why not just admit that he saw him but was so pissed that he refused to acknowledge? Only Bill can tell. But he is not being honest here..

    I've had sleep paralysis numerous times. To me it is the same as being in a coma. I could hear people talking to me. However, when I tried to talk nothing would come out. When I tried to move I could not. Its a frightening situation. Yes, I strongly believe people in comas can hear. So if you know someone in this situation by all means talk to them.

    🤣😅😄 What is hilarious about this is that the interviewers do not realize that Shatner is playing them. When he gets incompetent interviewers, he does this. He is amusing himself (and the audience) at their expense.
    "Oh, you want to talk about defecation? That's how you start an interview? That's what you want to discuss? OK! I can do that! We'll talk about it and discuss all aspects of it and dilate upon it and give our insights on it and go on and on and on about it..."
    This is vintage Shatner at his most impish. He is a tease. And he is hilarious. 😁☺🤣

      You may call him an imp, but I know it woulda been far easier for me to interview the guy who used to be James T. frikkin' Kirk *AFTER* such an icebreaker going on just about long enough to get past the massive star-struckness. Not like has has to talk about poop in *ALL* his interviews, but it's certainly made me feel more at ease than I would've been before that.
