Good lord I can't believe how good he looks for 87. He looks great.
And they say black dont crack.
Guessing being a non-smoker is a key. 3 smokers, Nimoy, Kelly, and Doohan all died earlier than they should have.
@@scottschultz1961 And a non-drinker. That may have been even more important. I also read years ago that he always washed his face only with Ivory soap back when he was in his 30's. Don't know if that's true or not, but something sure preserved his skin.
I had no idea he was so natural and funny!
He's been taking care of himself. Eat right. Live right. You'll maintain your youth.
It is insanity that this man is 87. Not just that he looks 20 years younger, but he so sharp and capable of very sharp, cogent and insightful. Not being funny, but people generally lose their marbles by the time they hit 80. Amazing man, really.
Actually I would argue that he looks 30 years younger.
He is Captain Kirk after all.
veg life!
He just turned 90 last month and he’s still as sharp as a tack.
@@sspbrazil it was time for another like
*Bill Shatner is simply and obviously AMAZING at age 87.* what an incredible life & career.
but anyway: *HERE'S THE CLINCHER: Jesus is ALIVE. you miss it with HIM: you miss everything.*
I'm grateful this man is still around and sharing wisdom.
The wisdom of poop

Sharp as a tack. Hilarious on Twitter. Hope he's around a lot longer.

William Shatner's voice... No matter what he says, I love the sound of his voice...
It is William Shatner's universe and we are just lucky enough to live in it.
His wife wasn't...
lol

IN SHATTNERS LIFE OTS ALL MEASURED by dogggy shot and dradel leangth
In Shatner’s universe, there is no room for anyone else except for Shatner himself.
He`s awesome. So open and honest. What a special man!
Damn, Bill is rapier sharp and good looking for his age. I'm approaching my mid-50s and already feeling it!
The thing I love about Shatner is that he's too chill for all the drama that Hollywood fools try and throw his way.
I can’t believe Bill Shatner is 87! Other than his weight, and I’ve gained a lot of weight too since I was 25,he looks fantastic! Being an incredibly active man has kept him young. He’s been a hero to me since I watched Star Trek. Bless him!🙏🏻🙏🏻
William Shatner is such a cool guy.
He is a living legend.
I remember him in a twilight zone episode called, Nick of Time. It's a trip seeing him then and now. I don't know that it was about back then with actors being so much better. There was a simplicity and certain air of innocence that is hard to find today.
Live long and prosper, William Shatner!
Captain Will... Are you 49?? A ball of energy and so engaging in conversation. I've watched him since the diner scene and the gremlin on the wing. Always a command presence. I think that causes some envy and maybe jealousy. So what! Horses, dogs , people, world at large capt Will shares it all with us. I wish I was more like him in that respect. Outgoing, friendly and maybe sometimes in your face. A force of nature that I hope stays with us for a long time.
He looks amazing for 87.
Seriously. Theres a story Patrice Oneal tells from before he passed about Shatner giving him genuine advice on his health. He said it was very sincere. Kinda crazy that he was long outlived by Shatner
Thought the exact same thing. He has been overweight for decades now but man is he still going strong. Can see him hit 95 easily. Legend.
Sam does look amazing for 87, too bad he's 35.
blame his decent looking toupee
I thought you were joking. Had to look it up.
Shatner is pure awesomeness
What a great bloke with the same charisma as when he acted in star trek which made you glued to the tv
How is he so on the ball at nearly 90?
Saurian brandy works wonders.
Drinks Molson Canadian
he avoids putting death into his body.
this is acutally a pretty good segment. But mostly because shatner seems like an awesome dude to hang with
If Mr Contained Rage, Henry Rollins from on of the most important Punk bands ever, Black Flag, says he was invited to hang with Bill at his home one time and had a great time and was able to learn something from it ... the guys gotta be alright in my book. Henry is razor sharp himself and was wowed by Bill's clarity, fun and honesty.
What happened between him and Nimoy was between them and has NOTHING to do with us. Ya can't tell me you've never fallen out with a friend and both being "It wasn't me it was you...." about it.
Don’t be fooled.
This is classic narcissistic behaviour: all charming, rosy and sweet on the outside but you sure as heck don’t want to let him in because he’ll kick you out so to speak.
I got very very bad vibes by just being in the same room with the man. Didn’t want to go anywhere near him and certainly couldn’t wait to get out of there.
@@C21L01 You probably feel uncomfortable in the presence of greatness.
"You'd probably hit some guy's head." Gold!
It's a shame that he and Leonard Nimoy quit speaking. I had a good friend, one of my two best friends, die recently. I feel fortunate that I had been watching a basketball game and then a movie with him just hours before he passed.
Darrell Hart I saw a piece lately about Nimoy and it explained the difficulty he had with COPD, so it’s entirely possible that he stopped talking with Shatner (and apparently his own son) for the same reason - just too exhausted to manage it. I saw a late interview in which Nimoy admitted his lifelong friendship with Shatner too, so I’m willing to believe there were no hard feelings between them when Nimoy passed.
Personally, I had a dear friend pass from the same condition as an old man when I was just 20ish, and there was a degree of embarrassment he had to put aside just to see me. Perhaps it was the same for Nimoy?
That time with my friend was the greatest gift a friend can share. His presence.
RIP Mr Relle and Leonard Nimoy. I love them both. And I love Shatner. (Be generous with love and life will reward you!)
Bill Shatner is a classic male born in the 30's. Superior work-ethic, just like his one-time buddy Leonard Nimoy. Insensitive at times to other people's feelings. Single-minded in their drive. Reminds me of my Dad. I love him! :)
The Shat talking about poop is far more entertaining than two seasons of Star Trek: Discovery.
This was a very good interview and shows the real William Shatner. I think he's such a cool guy with a lot of wonderful insight to life.
Shatner is such an interesting guy. I have heard all the inside baseball I care to hear about Star Trek. But I could listen to him talk about horses, dogs, his books and his other enterprises any time. And he must have a million stories about his decades of acting jobs outside of Star Trek.
the whole time I'm watching this I'm thinking...."what a wonderful head of hair !"
Wig
@@scottmatznick6461 lol...probably but if it is....it's a good one ! x-D
For such an old guy you can tell his brain isn't garbage like a lot of men his age. Nevermind that he looks 20 years younger than he actually is, the fact that he isn't slow and crazy is itself impressive as fuck.
"our poop is all different" - William Shatner
He's fisted a lot of aliens. I believe him.
Wise words
Shatner is cool, I see him eviscerating people on Twitter and it’s awe inspiring:)
Man his mind is sharp he looks good
Aging has been good to William Shatner, he’s more adorable than ever. 💋💋💋 Love him and Spader on Boston Legal. ❤️❤️❤️
The restricted activities of the pandemic have caused me to spend way more time on line than I ever did before. Shatner just turned 90 and he did this interview a couple of years ago, but I guess I clicked on it because the RUclips algorithm suggested it, since I just listened to a more recent interview. It was interesting to hear him. I remember I read a book he wrote a few years back, where he said the key to his success is always saying, "yes". "Yes" opens doors. "No", closes them. Smart advice.
Fame and wealth have eluded me, but I have a great family. We've been married 47 years and my son and his wife just had twin granddaughters. I can't even imagine what it's like to a successful celebrity, but he seems to be at peace with his life and I hope I can still feel as good about my life, when I'm 90 (18 years from now).
You have to admit that Shatner creates questions (about himself, about others, etc) . . . and they're generally questions worth looking at . . .
What a cool interview all round
Gotta love Shatner.
@Gelmir Curufin Do alpha males intimidate you?
Gelmir Curufin,
Would he be welcomed if he did? I thought they weren’t on speaking term before Nimoy’s death.
Can't wait to read his new book. This man was a dad to me, kept me entertained, focused, and in line when I was just an itty bitty kid watching the Enterprise. The Capitan!
A dad to me too.
He actually looks very much like my dad did. I always found it interesting (and young Marlon Brando)
wow hes got music coming out...thats awesome!! i must find it after watching this fantastic interview!! i love the man...hes so cool...and kind hearted...thanks so much for sharing this with us!!
You guys have done some really first class interviews in the last month. Keep up the good work

@Gelmir Curufin , man, jealousy is a bitter disease.
William Shatner still firing on all cylinders at the age of 87. My favorite character on Star Trek was Leonard Nimoy as Spock but I loved all the characters on ST. It saddens me that in reality they didn't all get along. Guess the show had good writers and good actors as I strongly felt they had great camaraderie.
Nimoy was Shatner's best man at his 3rd wedding. At different times both stated that they were best friends.
@@noravanwyk2748 I believe that Shatner, Nimoy and Kelley were good friends :) I've never been to a convention but sure wish I could've gone to one where all three were up on stage. It seems like fun when the actors goof around. (I saw a video where TNG actors crash each other's meet & greet or Q&A session.) On the other hand, I was surprised to find out Kate Mulgrew made life hell for the actress who played Seven of Nine. The Korean American actor was in tears for her. (What a nice guy!)
I been to two Star Trek convention and Bill's live stage time is funny as hell.
Dirtnation2 I was thankful to have seen his panel at Seattle’s ComiCon in 2017 and got to meet him. He is as sharp as a tack.
Thank you for posting this. This is the best thing a RUclips love you guys
Great work on the documentary, Jim!
I love this guy....
He came right up to me once at a charity event and was so candid.
I just read that book and it is great! Saw Shatner's World two years ago and he has more energy than I. I got winded watching him.
This Man Almost Had Me In Tears. Hes Soo Beautiful
In Canada, the government appoints the Queen's representative in Canada - the Governor General - for a term of 5 years. The Governor General is largely a ceremonial position, but is responsible for conducting the fair and smooth operation of parliament. A few years back, when the Governor General's term was due to expire, there were some serious inquiries into asking / attracting William Shatner to be come the Governor General. Sadly, he said he was flattered, but too busy to take the honor. Over the years, his name comes up in consideration.
You really look good William Shatner..especially for your age, I've been a fan of yours since the 60s. I just watched an earlier video of you talking about loneliness and can relate to it as you talked about it, do something nice and good for someone else.
"You probably would have hit some guys head." I died lol
Me too! And so did they.
Eastwood on the hand...looks ever single one of his years...and here is Shatner looking and acting youthful.
That's a good point and Eastwood was a health nut.
Clint didnt need plasric surgery. A mans man.
I think Eastwood looks pretty good.
He's amazing, looks amazing, and if that really is a wig then that looks amazing too.
wow he looks 60-65...what a life he's lived
I once heard Nimoy say that way back in the seventies one of his children was mad at him over family issues and was not communicative for a period of time, but the situation had been resolved and I know Nimoy's son actually worked with his father to do a documentary about his fathers career.
Brilliant!
Walter Koenig sheds some light on Shatner/Takei and relationships in his interview for American Archives/something/something. Seems that there was something about him that rubbed people the wrong way...
Amazing guy!
Don't you just fucking love how they over explain everything, no I mean like everything
Very interesting person to listen to not a know it all but open to everything good balance in this life.
What an amazing man & life!
How sweet with Mr. Hawking.
amazing, he hasn't changed in 60 years, he could play kirk in a new season of ST TOS
I love this man and all he represents.
I believe that Leonard Nimoy knew he was near his time to go and didn't want his friend Willian Shatner to see him at his lowest, therefore he stopped talking to him. This is just my opinion.
I feel the same. From so many interviews they’ve given together, you could see a lot of love and admiration- there’s no way that would just go away
Since I was a little girl... I LOVE YOUUUU, WILLIAM SHATNER!!!! Un abrazo afectuoso desde México :)
He's legend.
(Sorry my english)
William Shatner looks to have iron health and great genes when it comes to looking great at old age. I would never had guesed that he is nearly 90 years old.
Shatner knows why Nimoy stopped talking to him. Shatner betrayed him on a film called The Captains. Nimoy didn’t want to participate, but Shatner’s film crew taped Nimoy, without consent, at a convention. So Shatner is lying when he says he doesn’t know why Nimoy was pissed until he died.
That would be a case of "getting the job done" even if people stand in your way, and Shatner's not going to let anyone, even Nimoy, hold him back.
What a sad reason to end such a long friendship. Nimoy was extremely sensitive about his image being used without his consent and Shatner should have known better, but ... what a shame.
Funny Shatner and Takei are still sharp. Hope they call a truce soon.
Could you imagine an all-woman interview like this talking about the size, length, consistency and texture of their poop? I DARE NOT!
When I met him at a Sci Fi convention in Plano several years ago. it appeared he coped with a day-long photo session by getting good and hammered.
Sci-fi convention in Plano? Which convention, and where in Plano?
The greatest looking late 80s something I have ever seen. He looks like he is in his 60s if that.
Damn, Shatner looks awesome.
He is cool, he was able to get Ritchie Blackmore guest guitar on one of his albums.
Leonard Nimoy's appearance of aloofness from son and William may have been triggered when he was diagnosed with cancer. Those things can really set a person back, to a pause others see as a possible offense taken, when it isn't. Although, I don't know the timing of his discovery relative to Willam's notice of relational aloofness. Something William may want to consider.
Cancer???? He died with COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease).
william shatner for 87 is cool as fuck
Captain Kirk!!!! 👍👍👍. And funny as Hell in person. Love William Shatner!!!
And hey trekkies! “Get a life!!” 😆
MorbidManMusic it was a joke he made on SNL.
I could listen to Shatner talking about the glory of good dog poop all day.
He must have said the word "poop" at least 50 times..!
Hearing William Shatner discussing poop qualities was too much. 😂
Shatner 2020!!!!
Respect ...He's now Admiral Kirk
Great show great guess
most enjoyable, I like Bill...
Looks the age of my father, older than my grandfather. I think this dude left warp speed with a little token.
Love it: talking shit right out the gate.
The Great Shat recently turned 90. His Christmas Album is the best.
I don't care what anyone says, Shatner is the fuckin' man.
I love Bill.
7:44 - Negative. It was actually 2 years ago during the Destination Star Trek tour. He might not have spoken to Takei but definitely 'saw him in person'. Why not just admit that he saw him but was so pissed that he refused to acknowledge? Only Bill can tell. But he is not being honest here..
@MoralSingularity
I didn't say perfect I said honest. He is self-evidently not perfect but i'm not judging him for that. I'm not even judging him on his honesty it is simply an observation.
@MoralSingularity
I already ate. Maybe some other time?
There's a difference in not being honest and not being accurate. I'm sure if you've been on this planet for 12 years or so, you know there is a difference.
@@a1investigations433
Yes, well, he's quite often highly inaccurate when it suits him it would seem.
Gotta love the ...
He had a Doberman on the set of star trek the original series
I've had sleep paralysis numerous times. To me it is the same as being in a coma. I could hear people talking to me. However, when I tried to talk nothing would come out. When I tried to move I could not. Its a frightening situation. Yes, I strongly believe people in comas can hear. So if you know someone in this situation by all means talk to them.

Goed educated and polite.
🤣😅😄 What is hilarious about this is that the interviewers do not realize that Shatner is playing them. When he gets incompetent interviewers, he does this. He is amusing himself (and the audience) at their expense.
"Oh, you want to talk about defecation? That's how you start an interview? That's what you want to discuss? OK! I can do that! We'll talk about it and discuss all aspects of it and dilate upon it and give our insights on it and go on and on and on about it..."
This is vintage Shatner at his most impish. He is a tease. And he is hilarious. 😁☺🤣
You may call him an imp, but I know it woulda been far easier for me to interview the guy who used to be James T. frikkin' Kirk *AFTER* such an icebreaker going on just about long enough to get past the massive star-struckness. Not like has has to talk about poop in *ALL* his interviews, but it's certainly made me feel more at ease than I would've been before that.
18:30 - was he there for the Third Annual Blink-Off??!!
Such a put together, driven guy.
at 1:49 I thought he was going to ast : "Did you wash your hands?"
The Enterprise is still under his command... today and in 2 the future.
from what I heard....Leonard Nimoy left his first wife Sandra Zober on her 56th birthday and divorced her in 1987. Adam Nimoy from what I unde3rstand, didnt approve of his father marrying Susan Bay, Michael Bay's cousin...
He does look great but he should be honest about his falling out with Nimoy. He knows why..... He's just embarrassed about it.
This is one of those things that probably just should be left be. It happens to most people at one time or another. It's sad, but it's life. Yes, he knows but is saying nothing.
@@TheLSK To Shatner it happens A LOT though. :\
Shatner wanted him to a appear on a show but Leonard nimoy had cancer at that point and didn't want to or couldn't go.
But shatner secretly recorded him and later played it on the show.. after that they stopped talking. Shanar never even went to the funeral.
@@danielmarinucci9342 and that's why he's embarrassed, he knows the reason Nimoy stopped talking to him
Rumor has it he filmed Leonard nimoy while he was sick without his permission
