I am 74 years old and spent the first three years in Capertee. My mum grew up in Capertee and met my father there. We lived in those days with my great grandmother in a old wattle and daub house. Story goes i used to go down to the pub with my dad when I was about 2 - 3 year old. Explored the area over the years when we went back during the school holidays. A great area and planning to go back soon.
Has it changed much from your early memories?
That RV initiative at 8:50 is going to be the lifeblood of many country pubs. I'm building a motorhome currently myself, and this is exactly what aussies need to do for eachother. Mutual support. Love to see it.

We discovered this place on our first trip to Turon Gates,,stopped for lunch and a few beers and now stop there whenever we are out that way,,,,,Lookin at a stubby holder from this pub as I type,,,Love it.

I've been going up there from Sydney on camping trips with my wife and son for a few years now and I love this pub.
A bit quiet on week days but that's how I like it anyway, great crowds on the weekend though.
I broke down on the way back from the bush a few months ago and had a great evening there with my 6 year old son waiting for a tow truck to Sydney.
One of the few pubs that still feels like you are in the Aussie bush.
They even had a great classic car show out the back earlier in the year.

Rail Trails for bicycle riders are going gang busters in SEQ, if the rail line is nearby could be a great thing for the area.
It sure is, just need to watch out for the coal trains! They do not pull up quickly.
