    3 very high level athetes here, but the judging is taking away from them and they're max potential. Say what you want, Atwood's thirds squat was fine. The third deadlift was boderline, but Monigatti's third attempt was much more evident in my opionon but they overturned that one. I understand that IPF wants to mantain the face of the most prestigious tested organization and it needs strict judging, but: 1) being too strict over dumb shit ruins the competition and takes away from the athletes and 2) be strict, ok, but also be consistent

      @bertrandronge9019 Год назад +2

      He should have pulled less. There was a bit of ego there. It was unnecessary to go for a WR attempt. He would have get 317,5, he would probably had enough to secure his win. I think he was robbed on the squat. Not sure about the DL but he still made a bad decision going for 323 IMHO

    • @bertrandronge9019
      @bertrandronge9019 Год назад +2

      @@thomasmcconville9199 it's Taylor Atwood, if there is a slight deviation on the technique it's most likely that he started to get some muscles tired or that it was way too close to his max strength of the day. From a strategy point of view, I maintain it might have been wiser to go for 317,5 or 320 and not try to get the WR. He might have still not won maybe Johansson could have done 333. We will never know. Anyway if the judges would have been less strict, he might have won and beat the WR. And kept it because the others might have go even higher and not been able to lift it, then I would be here praising him for the boss move 🤷‍♂️ So I know easy to talk afterwards 😉

    Du temps où je faisais des concours de squat dans les années 70, tous les essais qu'on voit sur cette vidéo auraient été déclarés nuls, car le powerlifter ne marque aucun temps d'arrêt en bas de la descente. Chez nous, un arbitre regardait si on était descendu asses bas (fémur sous l'horizontale), puis s'il jugeait que le temps d'arrêt avait été assez long, (près d'une seconde), il claquait des mains pour qu'on remonte et une fois relevé il fallait encore demeurer immobile (un certain temps) avant de re-poser la barre sur les supports, sinon l'essai était annulé.
    Là, le powerlifter s'il avait accompli l'essai strictement, donc sans profiter du rebond en bas de la descente, aurait levé 35 ou 40 kg en moins...
