    Inevitably the behavior of Vinicius becomes the focal point. There is so much more emphasis placed on the behavior of the victim of racism than the fans, players & institutions who are racist.
    Can we get segments solely focused on how to dispel racism from the sport instead of this garbage?

    • @user-mv7kh5sv9z
      @user-mv7kh5sv9z Месяц назад +5

      I do not think this segment had anything to do with that but about Vínicius' general style of play. His constant remonstrations with officials and petulant scuffles with opponents are starting to become annoyingly tiresome for many

    • @Iambigjones
      @Iambigjones Месяц назад +2

      @@user-mv7kh5sv9z My point is they spend way more time and energy chastising his behavior while the way bigger issue which is the racism in the sport goes largely ignored. These segments shouldn't exist if you're not doing at least 10x more segments on the racism within the game.
      Secondly there are plenty of players who were highly confrontational who didn't receive racist abuse and quite frankly were revered within the sport with the media playing up their persona. Roy Keane, Zlatan, Sergio Ramos, Gatusso etc come to mind. Vinicius' behavior being highlighted to this extent only highlights the racial bias in that same media. Also let's keep it real they are only really harping on that behavior to cover for the overt racism he receives. They never want to deal with racism and black players like Vini are tired of it.

    • @user-mv7kh5sv9z
      @user-mv7kh5sv9z Месяц назад

      @ElayfromLA You missed Gab's point. He added that the racism complicates things because it may seem as though if you just focus on his general style of play, it can easily be misconstrued as victim-blaming when he becomes the subject of actual racist abuse. But if you were to take the racism aspect out of it, Vínicius' petulance and constant remonstrations with officials are becoming increasingly irritating...even for some of the most ardent of Vínicius sympathisers

    This is a very dangerous approach to this conversation. Yes, he looks for fouls at times and reacts but this is a recent addition to his game because he gets kicked A LOT! Even in maybe his first game for Real Madrid academy, he got bitten ON THE HEAD by the Atletico captain! You bring up him shoving Laporte and Orban without the incidences before that which fuels the narrative. Vini is not the first and will not be the last emotional/passionate player in the game and even though you are saying his approach should never warrant the abuse, you go on to say he doesn’t help himself. In essence you’re telling him to humble himself to avoid abuse which is the whole point of the racism he faces!
