I went to school with Sam. I remember he was absolutely obsessed with The Darkness when they came out, and his little band he put together did this very song in assembly once. What a full circle moment 20 years later that he's singing it with actual Justin Hawkins for real!

I mean, I like the guy and watch his channel, but I would never describe the guy as down to earth. He is a front man, and like every front man of a successful band, he's overly opinionated and arrogant. It comes with the territory.

Best NYE pre midnight music show in years from the BBC. Usually one artist playing their own songs so it's boring after 10 minutes. This was superb start to finish. And he wasn't just there promoting his own songs.

This video makes me endlessly happy. How awesome to see two pure musical nerds just loving what they do with complete abandonment. You don't see many musicians play with that much passion. With endless touring you can see they just end up playing like robots but these two clearly had fun. I bet their audience felt every bit of passion that night.
I thing The Darkness was underestimated. I know the video was a bit campy but the that song just stuck. I LOVED all the guitar solos

The darkness was one of the most amazing bands I have ever seen live. Justin is so wild but so humble. So damn dynamic on stage. Goes from absolute mad man guitar front man to “oh thanks everyone” when they finish a song. This would have been awesome to be in the audience for.

Anybody that says The Darkness was a niche band has never heard the rest of their albums. Justin Hawkins has a spectacular vocal talent. I don't know Sam Ryder but he's great too!
