Sotek's camera now has that TWWH:1 moody white balance
He's in the empire now
I expect him to yell out "Bring me Tumai Menh" randomly now.
Someone had to say it
On the topic of animations, I hope Tarmukhan takes a cue from Vilitch, Mother O, and the Blue Scribes and has an escape animation upon death. Since they couldn't implement his body swap mechanic in-game, it would be cool if you could see his true Maggot body make a run for it when his Ogre body dies.
thats a great idea
There is a very niche but cool design choice I love about Tamurkhan and that's how his fingers are a purple-ish shade which is both which shows (as Stated in the Lore) that the bodies Tamurkhan claims still decay over time. His purple fingers are signs of decaying flesh as it often starts with the extremities like fingers and toes
In Lore it also States that his extensive use of the Karaka Breakmountain actually helped cause his downfall
Me with Tamurkhan What is best in life? To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of Archaon
I think you could go a bit brighter
Otherwise i loved the Video ❤
Always a nice surprise to watch a sotek video before an exam
P.s the lighting is way better
Good luck nerd.

About Mournhowl: I think they mean Non-Nurgle units granted by the chieftain, such as dragon ogres or Chaos dwarves
yeah, it pretty clearly states that it's non-Nurgle chieftain units
so it basically works on all the chieftain units except Kayzk's (who's chieftain units admittedly feel a little pointless on account of being regular Nurgle units that you can get without him)
that means that it'll work on Aspiring Champions, Hellcannons, Dragon Ogre Shaggoths, Fimir Warriors, Fimir Warriors (Great Weapons), Chaos Frost Dragons, Skinwolves, Feral Mammoths, War Mammoths, Centigors, Cygors, Ghorgons, Blunderbusses, Infernal Guard (Fireglaives), and Dreadquake Mortars
ty for explaining
@@Eclipsed_Embersnice if thats how it works, i assumed it would be badly worded and meant either the units he grants or mortal units excluding those from chieftans.
@@Shimatzu95wouldn't be the only mistake in the chieftains but honestly it makes sense to me as things are. He's there to buff non-Nurgle units and it specifies Chieftain units so that he won't buff allied units or Ogre mercenaries.
Following Tamurkhans path at least somewhat so you can forge an alliance with Chaos Dwarfs is definitely a nice choice to make. I always ally with Astragoth as Archaeon so I can ally recruit ChDawi Artillery and some guns into my armies. Chaos being so heavy metal in the frontline makes them such a nice faction to get some good ranged units into your forces.
Also just to add being right next to Archaeon, Kholek and Zhatan is amazing because all 3 of them have some very nice defeat traits in game that Tamurkhan could make some nice use of.
It also just makes sense to ally with chorfs. They constantly supply Chaos armies in the lore and compliment them 100%
Early on why not, later on I spam purely Aspiring Champions - they are Complete beasts when you get shield and regeneration on them 😅
EDIT: Oh also, some Locusts of Fecundity from Exalted Heroes make that kind of Army unstoppable
@@robinekhoodekfulyeah its one of if not the strongest army in the game especially with Archi. Aspiring Champions with buffs are worldbeaters
Bubobelous' little hungry hungry hippo animation was pribably the best thing ive ever seen
As much as I'll enjoy the new LL, I'm so excited to see how this improves Kugath's campaign. despite it's flaws he was one of my favourite campaigns. I love the voice-acting and the presentation of the faction, the way the army played and that Kugath's a literal artillery piece. Now things like tech & buildings are improved & new units, I'm so looking forward to my next campaign.
Looks like a prototype for Dogs of War recruitment with different mercenary Lords.
The shadow Sotek has arisen! (Honestly, this camera setting is fine. it could be a bit brighter, but you're the expert and know the look you're going for)
I am the exact OPPOSITE of an expert on this one! I'll tinker with it a smidge more
yay Sotek's videos make my days (alongside all the other stuff i watch :P)
2:46 It's not new, it is already there. Funnuly enough, it currently is occupied by a Nurgle faction.
Damn, I’m not usually into chaos all too much. But an actual horde of varied war chiefs with uniquely themed armies is just what I would have wanted. Allied recruitment has done soo much for my enjoyment of the game, this is just *chefs kiss. If they can do something of the sort with Dogs of War/mercenaries and enrich the recruitment pools after a fair amount of turns, I’d eat that up.
Skin so bright, like the light of a sun
That is a terrifying thought, the super tanks front line of nergal paired with the great ranged of the chaos dwarfs 😐
I was really REALLY hoping that the Pestigores would have either or both of the abilities 'Contaminated' or 'Aura of Pestilence'. Sad noises. But overall looks cool
Never played a Nurgle campaign but this looks very tempting, many units that aren't glacial speed a definite plus and carving a path through IE looks fun.
Nurgle battle are fun a slow but unstoppable healing blob brings new meaning to a rush faction
plains of zanbaijin and the region were since IE release their
thanks for a steady pace of coverage. Hate that its now 4 days of nothing from them when there is plenty of things they could showcase/talk about.
I wonder why Khargan the crazed is referred to as “Krom” under his ‘pledged’ bonuses section in the video.
The beastman has two names too now that I look at it. Maybe those were placeholder names they implemented before deciding on the ones they have?
I do like the new “look” of the camera. Soteks lighting closer matched the content like maps
You're always quite angelic, Mr. Sotek.
Now, I actually think this is the better setting. Keep up the good work!
the Chieftans mechanic also has alot of potential for an Elector Counts mechanic, im not sure if CA will get the time to do it themselves but as a mod theres ALOT of potential there.
Can’t wait. Nurgle is my favorite demon faction. T-Man looks badass.
He is looking so good!
only a few minutes into the video but commenting to say that the brightness balancing looks good!
Sotek demands a like and a comment for the algorithm
Great video. I wish the game still had some challenge in it. I am mostly a normy to warhammer and just enjoy RTS. This DLC from that perspective is basically another nail of bloat death. Its good to see super fans excited though. Thanks for the lore focused video.
I'm more hyped for Tamurkhan than any new lord CA has dropped since I started playing in the second half of WH2. He looks so fun.
New camera settings looking great bud!
His death animation must be very interesting...
Would be good to start with a non aggression pact with the legion of Azghor
The plains of Kdatha is not a thing the settlement he starts in is called the Plains of Zanbaijin and is in the Kdatha province and also isn't new the Kdatha province and the Plains of Zanbajin where added during the Warriors of Chaos DLC (at least)
Also if they used something like Tamurkhan's chieftains for Nagash, the 'chieftains' could be legendary undead lords, like Arkhan the Black, Vlad and Isabella von Carstein and Mannfred (and they could eveer become lord for Nagash's faction, maybe even confederating them or they could do something similar to Vlad and Isabella von Carstein where if you pick Vlad Isabella is a Legandary hero and visa versa)
also i think you can have all the chieftains in a single game as Tamurkhan
I remember your video on a possible Khorne DLC and who would be good lords for it. It would not surprise me if Nagash is introduced in that DLC as either a Tomb King or Vampire Lord, as he is connected to both. Thoughts?
Petition to make the bile trolls into flamethrower units, projectile vomiting with 3 ammo, and reloading in combat!
Oh, nice to hear new region is added
The Rotting Riders are also mentioned in the End Times. But in there, they were regular Chaos Knights who served Gutrot Spume not Rot Knights
As a fellow Beacon of White I feel the struggles man. Camera looks great the way you have it now.
Agreed. But now I'd like to known Elspeth's and Malakai's mechanics because these two are also promising.
Speaking of the future, didn’t they say DLCs moving forward will be smaller? Which I’m not happy about. Assuming they are like old ones, two factions. Just feel they are gonna either end up dragging this out or never getting to everything. Thoughts?
I'd prefer less factions but with very deep reworks instead of pseudo reworks like vampire counts that don't change anything in the end.
Also I'd prefer they focus on powering up factions while also making them more fun, for instance the ogre kingdoms, which haven't been powerful nor fun since release.
The only way to make money is by camping at home and attacking caravans that's it.
You're penalized for trying to go too far from home and I don't like it, especially when having the ability to build camps.
It makes for a single way to play them, everything else seems like you're doing something wrong.
Definitely need map expansion north of Cathay. It feels underwhelming and silly that the Great Bastion defends against like six inches of space up there.
Sotek wouldn't a lesser variant on this work well for the Elector counts of the Empire and the High King and the lesser kings of the Karaz-Ankor ?
Good morning Sotek!
Hi sotek i was thinking if the next dlc would be slaanesh themed i was doing some research since CA decided to give us legendary heroes i was thinking that if we were to get dechala she could come with gilberion who is also high elf could you tell me your opinion thank you and have a good day
But Sotek, you ARE the second coming of an angel...
I'm glad Nurgle got some buffs and cool units... that'll make it more fun to PURGE THEM WITH FIRE AND GUNPOWDER!
Oh god, this is gonna make Boris and probably Kraka Drak and Kislev even harder to live for any period lol
I really wish GW did the other 3 Thrones of Chaos books for the other 3 factions!
I too like the idea of his name being "Kaz-ick" as well, totally not biased though
I'm not entirely sure where so many people got that idea from... if his name was spelled as Kazyk I'd understand but it's spelled as Kayzk
Drazhoath potentially being pronounced "Draz-ho-ath" was something I understood. made just as much sense as "Draz-oath".
but pronouncing Kayzk as "Kaz-ik" just feels like people were misreading it as Kazyk (to be completely fair, partially influenced by how I'd heard it being pronounced, I misread it as Kazyk at first and only realized how it was actually spelled after hearing how CA said it and looking very closely)
ToD looks so damn good that now I'm worried about what comes after it and hope CA doesn't reduce the dlc for future factions. So far, literally every unit I've seen I have liked in this dlc, even if I might have preferred other ones, I'm still happy with the ones we ogt.
Tarmukhan is sounding more and more interesting - now he's allied with The Ashen, one of my favorite factions to play?
i can see this mechanic working for archeon. he recruits all of his lieutenants. but probably not until we have the proper heroes in game for it.
With how good the nurgle overhaul is I really really hope they don't screw up the dwarf and especially the empire rework. Been waiting on one for 4 years now.
Sotek, play the Nagash legions mod. It shows how Nagash should be handled. For the most part.
Looks petty good so far!
hi stoek are you planing on bringing back who would win really liked it
Okay CA, enough bout maggot boy, show us more bout what we actually wanna see, Empire and Dwarves!
If mammoths and Cygors will be a main feature for his chieftains. Then I really hope those units get a buff or rework.
Also, petition to make marked gors become marked bestigors
I think you look mighty fine with these setting except for a bit of a greenscreen-border around you.
Was only very noticeable when you were zoomed in at the start.
If Tamurkhan's base form is a body snatching maggot, does he even fully qualify as mortal anymore?
At the risk of being pedantic, the Plains of Zanbaijin is most definitely not a new settlement. For that matter, I think it’s been on the map since it was first released.
Shouldn't Tamurkhan get perfect vigor considering the body isnt living?
One of his chieftains does give perfect vigour to the army he is in so it wouldn’t be hard to get this effect
@@Pruhbruh_ Idk how I completely missed that
I guess controlling a body from withing can be exhausting.
I hope festus can promote trolls to bile trolls
Pssst. Sotek. You missed the bit in the video where **Festus** was clearly shown as part of Tamurkhan’s roster, in the way he could receive buffs. The bit with the pink placeholder icons, also clearly shows our favourite big chinned bastard. 21 mins in.
Cross confederation confirmed?
Jesus, soteks background leaking the black onto the screen made me so so so worried my laptop had broke
I dunno I kinda like the idea of going south and getting Kugath. I mean Tamurkhan is a demon faction right?
Nothing like a little bit of Raining Nurglings
Any timeline on the link to buy the DLC to support you?
Brightness of cam is fine, however it's still low res. But it's better.
Camera seems slightly blurry on my end idk if that's just me though
Very interesting how close he is to Kholek, But either way, I'm going to march my fat rump all the way through Cathey.
also, yeah, the Chieftains definitely feel like a trial run for the Mortarcs for Nagash
"Nagash's Chieftains"
You mean his Mortarchs? :p
I def want to try the og storyline path for fun
How far is the 100th legendary lord???
currently we have 92 LLs and Thrones of Decay (including the FLC LL) will put us at 96
CA have mentioned wanting to do smaller DLCs after this one so assuming that they go back to the 2-Lord Lord Packs that will mean that the 100th LL is 2 DLCs away
Just wish this dlc would drop already!
Do we really think we'll get Nagash? Has it been confirmed anywhere?
CA has never actually confirmed Nagash, the closest they've done is have a few hints towards him in the Vampire Counts since game 1 and a few hints in the Tomb Kings in game 2.
the only LL that CA have ever explicitly confirmed that we've not gotten yet is Thanquol. normally LL's don't get any confirmation until their DLC trailer releases but all the way back in the early days of game 2 (before the Skaven had even a single paid DLC) CA clearly got fed up of how many people were constantly asking about Thanquol and confirmed that he'd be added in game 3.
CA has hyped up the 100th LL quite a bit so either of them has a decent chance of making it in as the 100th LL.
Uma pergunta:ele não poderia simplesmente pegar outro corpo ogro tirano?
My only real question left concerning this dlc is, when will Fanatical send you a referral link so I can pre-order? :D
CA isn't doing preorders for the DLC as a token of good favor after the last DLC debacle.
@@GoblinxChild What do you mean "token of good favor". Pre-orders don't solely screw over customers, and customers are completely at-will in terms of whether they want to pre-order or not. Especially when there's no exclusive bonus to do so.
I want to pre-order because the sooner CA makes a profit off of the DLC, the better the future prospects of the game. And I'm already decided in wanting the DLC in the first place.
@@SleepyFen CA's not opening pre-orders until they've revealed all factions, I believe.
@@SleepyFen I completely understand, and I'd also love to preorder, but the image of preorders at the moment in the industry is that of greed. By not offering preorders (the "token of good favor") CA is demonstrating that rather than taking your money before having the product in hand, they want to show everything they've worked on ahead of time and deliver a complete product on launch. It's just them trying to mend the goodwill lost from the catastrophic release of the Shadows of Change DLC.
BRUH THE BLACKSPOT SCARED THE SHIT OUTTA ME I THOUGHT MY SHIT BROKE
Could tamarkhan take over a dragons body or does it have to be humanoid?
Think it has to be humanoid for him to take over
You can tell that after SoC someone told Cooperate to say the fuck out of the promotional process
i feel like Nagash would be kind off a super faction xd
is this dlc releasing in april or is it going to be an early may launch?
I’m pretty sure some content creators said the full embargo for things like reviews drop on the 29th, and usually the full release is the day after. So we’re probably going to see the release on the 30th.
I hope nurgle gets a new landmark in the cold mires buffing trolls and toad dragons
If a new lord come out I like to try them out of realms of chaos first, the portals only appear if you play any base game lord, play any of the dlcs and it’s better, yeah not great to pay extra for a better experience but I don’t hate it either (edit; I’m ass and realms of chaos is way easier)
honestly the RoC campaign gets way too much hate. I can kind of understand some of the dislike towards the original Soul Race (even though CA did a lot to make it better, I think the dislike was already too ingrained. to be honest I never really understood why people seem to prefer the Vortex campaign over the RoC campaign) but all of the DLCs have had pretty good RoC campaigns
Have I been getting his name wrong for over a decade or have CA/GW changed Kazyk to Kayzk?
according to both the wikis I could find it's always been spelled Kayzk. I'd guess that someone mis-read it at some point, pronounced it as "Kaz-ick" and that lead to people that had heard it first also misreading it as Kazyk (that's what happened to me at least, I only double checked the spelling to find that Kayzk was correct after hearing how CA said it)
@@Eclipsed_Embers yeah after I posted this I went and dug out my copy of the Tamurkhan book and he really has been Kayzk all along. Though at least I'm not the only one who though it was Kazyk
When is the release ???
Everyone else eyeing up Nuln, me looking enticingly at Cathay
Been waiting for this :D
I wish the skin wolf guy gave armored skinwolves also i cant believe the beastmen shaman doesnt give jabber that would fit right into nurgle
that might've been part of the reason that they didn't choose to give the Jabberslythe. besides Kayzk the Chieftains seem to have clearly been picked out as allied forces rather than Nurgle stuff themselves.
it's important to note that in the lore, whilst Tamurkhan himself was Nurgle aligned, and his forces were mostly Nurgle focused, he actually had followers of all 4 gods under his banner. frankly he fits better as an undivided LL (though with a definite Nurgle focus) than Sigvald does.
@16:46 I think all LL's had Wallbreaker for a while now, so Tarmacon getting wallbreaker is nothing special. Unbreakable is interesting, esp for a Lord with this quick of a wound recovery time.
no, LL's don't have Wallbreaker, what they all got was Siege Attacker (basically letting them attack instantly in a siege even if they don't have any monsters or artillery)
Tamurkhan having Wallbreaker does make sense though, because Ogres all have Wallbreaker, and Tamurkhan's main host is an Ogre
I wouldve started Tamurkhan in Zanbaijin itself but close enough..
I need more info, there's so many goodies already
Are the chieftains heroes or lords? I would much rather them be lords.
when Love is the downfall of Chaos
14:31 black and bile color scheme
Tammy looks just a bit overtuned. But heck, it's Nurgle. Skarbrand can do that whole "long campaign victory on turn 8" thing. Kairos can do the most ridiculous nonsense to the AI and is also insane on the battlefield. Changeling by and large cannot lose a campaign. Nkari kind of sucks but the vassal spam strategy is ridiculous, and once you use that to grow a bit and build up Slaanesh corruption, the free army spam becomes insane. Oh, and Belakor can perma-kill level 20+ lords through hero actions, on top of being able to build teleportation gates, because why not?
Even with the tune-up, I doubt any of the Nurgle factions will be quite that OP. Not that it really matters in the end, because the true servant of all that is good and righteous is out there, waiting, building up an appetite, and when he's done with his warm-up routine in Cathay, Nakai will come for all the bloated Nurgle boys too.
Strangely, I've never actually gotten around to finishing a Nakai campaign. CA always manages to interrupt with a new release when I'm halfway through, but one of these patch cycles I'm definitely going to manage a "Nakai eats the world" campaign, taking the scenic route back to Lustria.
This LL if not super expensive is Power creep as heck
Tamurkhan defeat trait gives +3 hero capacity why play him when you can farm him.
