Amber Nelson Abbie Hoffman had more integrity in his pinky finger than you ever will. He got out there and led activism on the frontlines and fought for social justice his whole life. He died broke because he gave away most of his earnings from speaking engagements like this. You sit back and dump on him when you don’t even have a clue what you’re talking about.
Rubin did more for social activism than you could possibly imagine. Despite shifting some beliefs his actions still reflected one who cared about change with donations and organizations he started.
I love that quote at the end of Abbie's speech, "There is no problem in our society to which there is not a creative practical workable solution. We have the technology, we have the money, we have the brains, we simply lack the will to address ourselves to the public problem. We didn't invent the cry of peace and justice in the 1960s and we certainly didn't write its final chapter... the battle is not over."

counterculture isn't all about drugs or stuff like it. The idea of of counter culture is to take a hard look at what people do and why. Counterculture asks, "are these people following rules because those rules currently make sense and apply to me, or because those rules have always governed our lives and they do not want to change that?" Also, in the 60s, people didn't really understand the negative effects of drugs. They viewed taking drugs as being like drinking during prohibition.
