Thanks for posting the video. It really helped me to disassemble my monitor. I had no clue with the seam. My monitor is on the way out. Colors fading, not starting and such. After taking it apart and jerking around with it, it miraculously started again. I just need to get a few more months out of it, then I'm good. Then I'll get a new one with an IPS display. Funny thing: After putting it back together, I had five screws left over. They're going to haunt me now. lol
Samsung S24B300 = exactly the same procedure. One tip: Start anywhere along the top when taking it apart but definitely start at the bottom center when putting it back together. I was befuddled, bewildered and stumped as to how to open my S24B300. Then I found your video and it's exactly the same. It even looks the same inside and the tip about the bezel clip was spot on. THANKS! I was able to fix my monitor for under $30 by buying the part online. Samsung wanted $150 to fix it!!! BTW - I used a putty knife also (as mentioned by others) and didn't break any plastic or make a single scratch on the unit.
Nanya Biznez Hi, was it a plastic putty knife? I used a wide screwdriver with some masking tape at the tip. I made some minor scratches around that are not visible while looking at the monitor. It is really not a problem but I would prefer to make it without doing any scratches. I still need to repair it again and I am waiting for the capacitors I ordered online and I made a few more scratches reopening the case.
Beurre Pinotte No, it was a hard steel putty knife, it had no flex in the blade at all. It was about 2" wide but it would have been easier with a 1" or even 1/2" putty knife. It's the thinness of the blade that makes it easier, so a screwdriver tip is kind of thick, which will leave marks. TIP: As mentioned by others, you have to press so hard that you'll think you're going to break it but that's when it pops open. Once it pops loose in one spot, move the the putty knife about 4-5" left or right along the seam until it hits the next (hidden) clip, then repeat the "press in until it pops" move. It will get easier with each clip after that. TIP: I have two other Samsung monitors with wildly different model numbers but I tried to open them using this method and it worked fine on all of them. So if you don't see any possible way to open your Samsung monitor, this is the method.
i have same monitor , i want to connect my audio amplifier to this , as there hdmi audio available, do you know how to tap the amplifier input wire after removing this monitor casing.
Hi Matt: Way to go, I have one these and wanted to to put a bracket on it for a portrait mount. Pop the case off as you clearly show, drill a few holes PRECISELY and bung in a few offsets or bolts or screws, whatever and we are good to go. Thanks man
Thanks for the video. It helped tremendously. I used a putty knife/scraper since there was almost no gap to work with. Finally got it open exactly as you described.
Thank you for making and publishing this video. I recommend using automotive trim removal tool or smartphone prying tool, as it's made of plastic and allows flawless job.
thank you so much for making this video! it's precisely what I needed to remove the rest of the stand from the monitor. thank you thank you thank you!!!
Very helpful…thanks! Was able to mod my monitor to accept a VESA connector. The S24D300 has no wire connector so when you finish popping all the connectors on the side, the whole back panel comes off. I used some epoxy and carbon fiber to beef up the section that I connected the mount too and it feels pretty solid.
My Samsung monitor is working ok but seem to have few darker spots when I view completely white image. Apparently some of the leds have been burnt out? Are they easy to replace? It isn't that bad (yet) so maybe I just leave it be...
Hi there, I wonder if you can open the DellU2410 the same way or if there's a trick to it ? I'd really appreciate an answer, since my tv repair shop couldnt manage to open the damn thing. :(
There should be room to mount some nuts on the inside of the case, I am not certain what the threading/ diameter of these nuts would be. You could also epoxy a mounting plate to the back of the monitor.
How easy would it be to open a benq led screen to remove a fly that's gotten inside the panel? once I've opened the screen does the panel just lift apart? thanks
how did u fix your power socket? my SA300 went off and it wont turn back on, I alrady checkt the power adapter, but it still seems to deliver the 14V, so issue has to be on the monitor side :/
Stupid me sprayed Clean solution on the monitor instead of the cloth and some amount dripped inside where the interface chip is for the touch buttons so after i clean it,i turn it on and he starts going on and off like crazy,i immediately unplug it from power. i came here to see how you open yours since its similar to mine ,mine is a S24D300H ,i open the mother fucker i use my hair drier on that chip part and now the monitor is open since 7 mins. The idea is you inspired me how to open mine, thank you,its a pity i haven't filmed since there's absolutely no clip on the net on how to open my model. And the fucked up thing is it has that little lock like logo on the bag with a hole in it,and if you look trough the hole you actually see the back of the LED,luckily i didn't force my screwdriver in there very hard :)))
recently half of the monitor become colourless but still working. Enquired with the technician regarding the same but he told the lcd panel is gone. Have to replace it with new one. I just kept it aside & bought new Dell monitor.
How do I open an SA350 27' LED Samsung monitor? Is it the same way with the snaps? There's a vertical red line going through part of the screen that I'm trying to get rid of. Pls help.
I have an ant problem inside my Samsung Series 3 LED screen. I think it's behind the glass. When you remove the case, does it have another screen that needs to be removed?
You can separate the LCD matrix from the diffusion planes, but be very careful, as anything that gets between them will be quite visible on reassembly.
Hi Matt, I would like to ask is it possible put a monitor bracket? I have 2 of this monitor and i'm planning to open it to place a monitor mounting bracket at the back. Please let me know if it's doable else, I need to buy a new set. tnx
"and no i'm not doing this again" lol :P Thanks for the vid man. I have an older 2253bw 1680x1050 that needs a new screen.but I can't find the damn part anywhere, not even amazon.
HI, please can u ask to me how can i fix this monitor? 1 month ago some water go on the monitor and water penetrate on the right/down side, now i just see 1 button dont work anymore (button Gameready/ V ) i cannot now descrease brightness and other thing, i was lookin on internet for buy a new piece of button, but i dont know that name , please help me THX
My Syncmaster SA 300 displays the square(Analogue n Digital) in the upper left hand side then goes blank. The blue power light comes on but that's it. any guess as to what could be wrong? the PC is fine cause i hooked it to another working monitor and it's fine so nothing in the tower are the issue...just the monitor.
+nmssis Dead logic board. Seems to be the story on all the Samsung displays that go bad. A friend of mine had the exact same display as me (S24B300 - we must have got them around the same time at Costco) and hers died a few days ago.
+nmssis Sorry for the late reply. Actually, it was difficult to find the part. I found a place that sells parts for monitors and they sent me the part for $30 but it was DOA. They refunded as they didn't have another one. Then I waited for months for one to come up on eBay. $30 also.
+nmssis THE LOGIC BOARD ISN'T DEAD! Sorry if it's too late. I had the same problem and you need to update the firmware using a tool from Samsung. Just Google "Samsung sa300 firmware update" or something like that. I had the same problem and this fixed it. You will need another display if you are using a desktop (as a friend), but if you are using a laptop then just plug in VGA and run the program.
I have a problem with the Samsung synsmaster t190p with opening it, it have shaped plastic edges that coming out the screen and covering the back. can you please show me how to open it because I want to fix it!
I would not recommend use of a screw driver you will scratch,/dent up the plastics. Plastic tool is fine. Recommend using your fingers in middle on bezel and pull up towards you from lcd and you will hear the pop of the clips disconnecting then use the plastic scribe to free up rest of clips
I also repaired mine twice and sorry but I do not like your method. Btw I am no electronic technician. I put the face of the monitor down on a soft surface then I open the case. Like this, only the back will come off and you are ready to fix the problem usually the capacitors. I do not see the point of removing the front. It will also add some protection to the screen then there is no need to unplug the wire attached to the controls. For people reading this, I will add that the faulty capacitors will not be flattened on the surface but there will be a small bump easily detectable just by looking or touching. Though, I prefer your method to open the casing, still doing it the front facing down. I used a wide screwdriver with masking tape at the tip prying all around and I made some minor scratches but they are not visible from the front. It is no big deal but next time I will use my fingers like you did. I need to repair it for a third time and I will add three computer fans at strategic location. Edit; Three CPU fans.
The power plug port broke off the board. I looked at your video and the power plug is hard to see.... anyone ever have this issue. Its like 3 prongs but not sure how to sodder it to the plastic piece that broke off the board. (black plastic cube near the inputs where the power cord plugs into)
Tried this, now the whole rim is having the plastic marked on both sides by the imprint of the screwdriver trying to make this pop... Very unefficient, screen's still closed

Nanya Biznez exactly the same here - was flabbergasted at how primitive the procedure is..ffs you'd think they'd make this stuff with some pride..
i have same monitor , i want to connect my audio amplifier to this , as there hdmi audio available, do you know how to tap the amplifier input wire after removing this monitor casing.
I have to do mine soon. And thanks for not playing any obnoxious music with your video.

Thanks feller, all I needed was a short video confirming that it's safe to do what I wanted to do (pry the front off)
Thanks for the video. It helped tremendously. I used a putty knife/scraper since there was almost no gap to work with. Finally got it open exactly as you described.
Thank you! Worked perfectly for another Samsung model.
Thanks for the upload, helped me open my samsung monitors case without tearing it up :)
Thanks for the video. I unmount the base, that have 2 philips screws. And make a 3d print support to make it lower and package in the desk.
Thank you for making and publishing this video. I recommend using automotive trim removal tool or smartphone prying tool, as it's made of plastic and allows flawless job.
Step 1: Watch the video
Step 2: Brake the monitor
Step 3: Lay on the floor
Step 4: Cry
Step 5: No profit
lol
brake?

Thanks, your video made for a quick, agro free fix.

Thanks for the tip. I have a different model but the exact design. Had to pry with a screwdriver first before using a squeegee.
Thanks!:)

Hi Matt,
I would like to ask is it possible put a monitor bracket? I have 2 of this monitor and i'm planning to open it to place a monitor mounting bracket at the back.
Please let me know if it's doable else, I need to buy a new set. tnx
good vid managed to fix my loose power socket that kept turning my monitor off
legendsunite how did you fix it?
Can you put a mounting bracket in the back of the screen to mount it on an monitor arm?

Thanks for the vid man. I have an older 2253bw 1680x1050 that needs a new screen.but I can't find the damn part anywhere, not even amazon.
I took a quick look around, and I see what you mean, Is there a model number on the back of the LCD screen?
It's like that with alot of things. The OEMs buy back the replacement parts so's **you have to** buy brand-new stuff from them 😢
