This is our weekly Dollar General grocery haul. They offer a coupon to save $5 on a qualifying purchase of $25. We normally buy our dairy, soda, and snacks here to save money. I also like to peek at their markdown seasonal decor and it makes my heart glad when it goes to 90% off!
Daphne it took me months to learn how to shop when we first moved here. I had it perfected back in Washington! Local Grocery for sale items and the Dollar General only on Saturday due to the $5 discount. And we do all are shopping on Saturday to save on gas. When I work and start at 8am I ride the bus to school and weather permitting I walk home. Every bit helps! I need to start baking instead of buying him treats at the store but all he says he wants is frosted sugar cookies. The ones with the cream cheese frosting.
@@rachaelsupadventures I know what you mean. I combine trips too in order to save on gas. I'm continually readjusting my habits because my tastes changes and my appetite changes I am needing to eat far less now than I used to and I've been needing to adjust my purchases (but I don't always succeed!)
@@MyMountainHomeandKitchen It is hard to adjust when everything cost so much more these days. I am thankful to be debt free and mortgage free and I cook mostly by scratch.
@@rachaelsupadventures The cooking from scratch is absolutely critical. I spent today and probably tomorrow, too, processing and freezing produce. It's such a great feeling that everything is there. All the ingredients for whatever you want to make.
@@MyMountainHomeandKitchen It is interesting about cooking by scratch. It takes a few minutes to acquire the things you need but once you have them you can do so much! Unlike a freezer meal where you cook it and it is gone.Very rarely do I not have the ingredients or something I can sub to make a recipe!
Serena that milk is cheap! The milk at the local Grocery is over $5 almost $6 for whole milk and that is why we buy it at the Dollar General! If we go into the bigger city it is more like your price. However our gas is cheaper locally it is $2.95 but in the city it is $2.60

Hi Linda welcome to my channel and thank you for staying!
Love your hauls! You did great. I don't have a Dollar General nearby, unfortunately, because it looks like they have great deals.

Wow your milk is expensive. Milk here normally is like $3.50 for a gallon. Some yummy snacks and you can’t go wrong with bacon.
