He dated Lyza for 5 or 6 years since before he was remotely famous after meeting on a farm in Norcal and she was in his jamestown ferry video. Seems to have broken up around when this song was written. Lyza has some interesting comments on her instagram about it, insinuating he cheated. seems like a bitter ending. I think his new girlfriend is supposed to be playing Lyza from the past in this vid.
