Had a Maine Coon who would burrow into the snow, and ambush anyone or anything that came close. It was like looking for tripwires and boobytraps. The dog wouldn't go anywhere near snow.

We have him warmth and love and he hated everyone but my dad. Even my dad he would scratch. You didn't even have to touch him. If you walked by him he would leap out and attack you. That cat was pure evil.
Cats don't get wet from being insde the snow, fur from outside is cold enough to not melt the snow. And btw, cats don't need baths - unless cat have toungue amputated or the fur is covered by poisonous/toxic stuff, they are capeable of grooming themselves.

I'm the same. Anything I might have goes to my cats to buy them a place together in a fancy no kill rescue that will keep them until adopted together. My sister & nieces & nephews can have the rest after them. But I'm hoping once grown my niece will love animals enough to take them.

My cats are indoor cats, but they used to be outdoor cats who were once both strays. Who both lived outside all their lives until they met me and my family, who fed em and took em in under our wings and took care of them.

This reminds me of the year we had a blizzard and the snow piled up on my back deck till it was 3/4 of the way up the sliding glass doors. I opened the door and the cats all came to inspect the new white wall. So being the prick i am i picked one up and tossed it into the snow. It was totally immobilized. We took turns and put all of them in the snow. Some tried to play, some just layed there trying to figure out why they couldn't move. Only one freaked, i don't think it liked being cold. We brought her back in and she resumed her spot in front of the heater. I've got a litter of feral kittens outside right now and it snowed the other day, no much half an inch maybe. But it was deep enuff to play with. One figured out how to gather snow and make a small snowball which it would bat around until it went off the porch. Then it's litter mates showed up and fun was had by all. One making snowballs and the rest playing with them.
I set my boy Jazz a tuxedo cat, into snow one time. I think he was pissed off at me to his last day. Oh well. Can't win 'em all. I miss that jerk. Damn I miss him.

My last cat, a Siamese, only encountered snow once. She wanted to go into the garden to take care of business... And if hate was a superpower, she owned it for like 3 minutes. She came back inside and gave me the stare of death. The evil cold white stuff falling out of the sky was all my fault.
