She is an artist. Because of my viewing habits, I see her most in acting roles but then I stumble on to one of her singing performances and I'm flabbergasted. Such a beautiful voice.
Donna Murphy, an ARTIST who always sets very high barres with her interpretations. She has always been a natural, but the years have added to her greatness. I love everything she does, every song she sings hits very deeply. Consummate ARTIST... breathtaking!
It's sad that they were unable to have the usual concert with everyone dressed to the nines and the beautiful orchestrations. What I missed most was the shots of Sondheim being interested and emotional in all these talented people singing his music. If I could say what I love about this format is that the event itself was so important to everyone that they found a way to do it. Everyone gave 100% and for some songs like Send in the Clowns, the fact that she is alone in her home adds an authenticity to the song. It's really very beautiful and melancholy. I can picture Sondheim watching it with his hand over his mouth being overwhelmed by the beauty of this performance.
What I loved about this is that there was no way they could get this many stars out for a live concert. They could get maybe 10. People could do this from any country, state, city they were in. They could do it even if they were filming a TV show right now. And they all did. The talent is amazing.
Donna's house has French doors and candles and fresh flowers because OF COURSE it does.
stormbob and an original Hirschfeld caricature of Passion

She's stunningly BEAUTIFUL
One of Broadway's greatest talents.
She really understands this lyric. That was incredible.
Wonderful performance but then what else could it be? She is a superb actress and singer who probably doesn't get the credit she deserves.

Once Broadway is back up and running, let’s revive A Little Night Music with Donna Murphy as Desiree!!
Donna is a legend and enormously talented. Love her.
Passion on the piano. I think she is one of our greatest performers of this century!
I didn't know I needed Donna Murphy singing this.
Also this is definitely one of the top 10 best songs ever written.
Stunning. Every facet of the diamond that is Donna Murphy is perfect.
...a perfect, “there oughT To be clowns.” i stan donna murphy.
I also love her "maybe nexT year" right at the end. Such clear Ts without making them overly harsh.
I love Donna Murphy. She nails every song she interprets.

@@eggplanthosewell said. This song is also much better, more personal, without the orchestra.
Beautiful
The score to Passion just casually behind her :)
The only rendition of the song that brought me to actual tears. Donna Murphy is the real damn deal
Her singing is just beautiful and it only took me 30 years to realize that she starred in "Star Trek Insurrection". She was magnificent in this movie.
This is the perfect pairing of song and singer. Phenomenal!
This is sublime.
Wonderful, she need more recognition! Imo best cover for this song so far.
Wonderful voice.
Hope can give like each time I came back to rewatch this!
Loved her in Center Stage. This is simply beautiful ❤️
I love this song so much and her performance is so beautiful! I'm sorry if my grammar isn't perfect, i'm brazillian.
Micaela Borba your grammar was excellent! More of us should learn a second language!
Haha Perfect grammar, sir! (Except for *Brazilian).
And you don't need to mind so much. Mistakes take part on learning.
Take care!
It could not be more perfect
She’s a goddess.
Bravo! Donna is fantastic as always!
So wonderful . 😢 💘
I officially have a crush on Donna Murphy.
Esta canción siempre me pone muy melancólico y en su voz! Que lindo!

Second only to Glynis Johns and superb.
Wait wait this is the song Justin McElroy keeps singing???
It always shocks me that Donna Murphy was cast as the unattractive, sickly spinster in Passion. Like, okay, sure, whatever you say, casting director.
