Great video, but I just clarify that there are actually four main ranks in a wolf pack. The alpha pair, the subordanits, pups, and the omegas. Now, you must know that the beta ranking only exists in larger packs where more say, leaders are needed. But still, the beta is considered a subordanite if the are a rank in their pack. Most of these other ranks that you mentioned are the roles of the normal subordinate. Others, like deltas, healers, scouts, gammas, and assassins do not exist in a real pack. This is the function of a real, wild pack.

Babysitter and help defuse rivalries in a pack and put their life on the line to save the pack if needed. There can be one or two in one pack, usually absorb most of the aggression, also can be troublemakers but be corrected immediately by the Alpha. The Hunters hunt for food, but because there are multiple threats everywhere the hunters are usually the most skilled in combat, meaning if there is a confrontation they are among the first to arrive. The elders are the older wolves, usually not able to hunt etc anymore. They indeed help the alpha's with decisions. THERE IS NO HEALER OR ASSASSIN!!!!!! The Omega's usually care for the wounded and the pups. Because there is no need to uselessly kill other animals, there is no use for an assassin, so there is none. And popular to contrary belief, Omega's don't eat last. Sure they get less food than all the higher ranking wolves, but they usually eat at the same time. That is because like all other ranks within a pack, the Omega's are vital. A pack cannot function without any of these ranks missing. (For those who are wondering why pups aren't in here: Pup isn't a real rank. It's a stage that every wolf goes through. They learn to hunt, fight, play and communicate like grownups.) True, smaller wilder packs tend to lean toward the simpler 'parents and younglings' but in a pack with 10 or even more wolves (or other wolf-like animals) there are things like an Alpha that keep most of the pack in line. Again, in larger packs things can get pretty complex pretty quickly. Seeing how my own husky pack generally operates on a day to day basis is really interesting when looking past the shallower outside look, and seeing how different dogs react to the same situation is really fasinating. But even then it's clear that when removing one link can cause chaos within the group. Its amazing to see how certain dogs take up the same roles every day. Our Alpha, or pack leader, knows when to step in, and others always know when to listen. Its great to see them respect each other and their positions. So at the end of the day, perhaps its not politically correct to call them Alpha's, or Beta's or Omega's, but there are most certainly ranks, rules and stuff like that within a pack. And they most certainly will get enforeced by those who have that responsibility within the pack. Actual pack ranks cause there aren't messengers, deltas or hunters...wolf packs are real life not some book, movie or roleplay thing: 1: alpha male and female, both are equal they are the most intelligent out of males and females. You might be the strongest but wolves ranks mostly rely on the intelligence. 2: betas, both of each gender they basically help the alphas out in controlling the pack, there can also be four sometimes when the pack gets larger. 3: lol this isn't categorized cause it's basically all other wolves form family or the beginnings of the pack birth. They just hunt and help feed the pups 4: The omega they take most of the beatings, they get the least amount of food and the usually leave the pack when the numbers get too large or they can't deal with more of the packs crap. So really overall there's only really 3 pack ranks besides the ones that hunt.

The alpha is the highest ranking of the pack but betas help them make decisions} // Hunters {Usually three or more | All depends on the size of the pack} // PatrollersAndScouts {The scouts go with the hunters on their hunting trip and walk further ahead to sniff around for signs of prey and then if they catch a scent they run back and tell the leader of the hunt / Patrollers walk around the territory and make sure there is no unusual scents or any things that seem out of place, if there is they go and tell Alpha} // Omega {The omega is the lowest ranking wolf and eats last, so they get the scraps in meals. Omegas stay in camp all day along with the beta and alpha. The omega tends to wolves when they get sick and the omega brings new bedding to dens. These aren't real wolf ranks. In real life wolf packs, there are only two leaders, the alpha pair, the only ones allowed to breed, then there are their pups, who are equal, though some might have higher or lower dominant behaviour. Then there is a chance one of the alphas have a brother or sister with them. The whole pack is family. There are no betas, deltas, whatever. The whole rank thing only goes for captive wolves who are forced to live together with unrelated wolves.
then what happens to their pups? when they get older theirs no way theirs just two mates because the pck would ever live unless later in life the female wolves the alpha female had one day has a one night stand with a wolf from a another pack or something

Actual pack ranks cause there aren't messengers, deltas or hunters...wolf packs are real life not some book, movie or roleplay thing:
1: alpha male and female, both are equal they are the most intelligent out of males and females. You might be the strongest but wolves ranks mostly rely on the intelligence.
2: betas, both of each gender they basically help the alphas out in controlling the pack, there can also be four sometimes when the pack gets larger.
3: lol this isn't categorized cause it's basically all other wolves form family or the beginnings of the pack birth. They just hunt and help feed the pups
4: The omega they take most of the beatings, they get the least amount of food and the usually leave the pack when the numbers get too large or they can't deal with more of the packs crap.
So really overall there's only really 3 pack ranks besides the ones that hunt.

I don’t think these are right no matter how much anyone wants to argue with me this is what I think it should be (just my personal opinion) // Alpha {Male or Female} // Beta {Male or Female, if the alpha and betas genders are one male and one female they often become mates so in that case two betas and two alphas aren’t needed. The alpha is the highest ranking of the pack but betas help them make decisions} // Hunters {Usually three or more | All depends on the size of the pack} // PatrollersAndScouts {The scouts go with the hunters on their hunting trip and walk further ahead to sniff around for signs of prey and then if they catch a scent they run back and tell the leader of the hunt / Patrollers walk around the territory and make sure there is no unusual scents or any things that seem out of place, if there is they go and tell Alpha} // Omega {The omega is the lowest ranking wolf and eats last, so they get the scraps in meals. Omegas stay in camp all day along with the beta and alpha. The omega tends to wolves when they get sick and the omega brings new bedding to dens. Sometimes the alpha or beta will ask the omega to take care of their pups if they have any} (sorry for the long comment😂)

These are actually the ranks in WEREwolf packs. Wolf packs only have Alphas, Betas(sometimes), subordinates and pups.
