This song gave me the story about the forbidden love between a sea goddess and a low rank pirate who escaped slavery. His inept attitude towards her sprouts from their distrust towards others and huge amounts of disdain towards authority. His heart belongs to the sea, and the sea belongs to her, but the goddess yearns for more. To have him, to hold, to love him forever. However, the mere man is a mortal who will die one die and, worst yet, is an infamous pirate who is destined to be hung for his sins against the world for his treasonous actions. She doesn't care, as her love is blind and wants nothing more than for him to reciprocate their affection. But the man cannot. His soul gaurded by anger and resentment, stockpiling up throughout the years over horrible things committed to him and those dear to him when was young innocent lad in a horrible environment. Sailing is the only thing that grants him happiness, as brief as it may be, and for that, the man is forever grateful towards the goddess. But one can not love others when they can not love themselves, and this sentiment rings true here. Perhaps if things were different, then the love would expand beyond the sea, and his heart would be hers, and her his. Their love would have transpired superfluous legends and would give hope to all lost souls trap at sea that their is hope for them, a happy ending. But in this sorrowful tale, that is not how the story goes...
I mean to be honest that is not too far off from the original reference for the song. You should write a book, or mayb short stories. You certainly have the head for it. 👍
