Im a noodle expert , heres some advice : dont cook ramen in the plastic thing , get a microwave safe bowl with a lid , it will be VERY helpful trust me and it doesnt leech chemicals into your food a combination I really like is mixing my noodles with chinese chilli oil , crushed garlic and an egg , put everything in the microwave safe bowl with the lid and cook it aprox 3-4 mins , and stir in between another one is making a soy+coriander+raw garlic+lime sauce and pouring it into your noodles right after they come out of the microwave you can also try using cheap green tea instead of water , ginger , lemongrass , sriracha , and eating noodles with a side of vegetables (cucumber or spinach)

egg in ramen is delicious though the way i cook it is to use the stovetop, put the raw egg in at the last minute or two of cooking. then the egg cooks with the ramen in the boiling water, so the egg is entirely cooked by the time you're done. it makes the broth creamier.

I like to slice half an onion real thin and then boil it in the water with the noodles and then when I bowl it up i'll add some thinly sliced tomato and a halved soft boiled egg that I marinated in some soy sauce for about 30 minutes or so. I call it my "breakfast ramen".

You could also try "Italian" ramen! Just add tomato soup or juice, Italian seasoning, and cheese (preferably mozzarella)! SUPER yummy and tastes like pizza!
PS - Use the oriental ramen seasoning packets as a marinade for the beef, then the additional water when you add the crumbled noodles to the cooking beef as well as the marinade. Mom use to make this for us and we chowed it down.

i prefer to get indomie mi goreng if you want a dry based ramen. just mix the packages the come with the ramen package and some soy sauce to make it liquidy. and cook the noodles and sauce on the stove.

Nice recipes! I tend to stick to noodles without flavor packets though, and just cook the noodles in chicken, beef or vegetable stock and crack an egg into the pot while the noodles are cooking. Adding mushrooms and green onion to the stock and cook for a couple of minutes before adding the noodles makes it even better. It's absolutely delicious and very Asian- I'd have noodle soups like it in China :)
The cheese is actually really good in Ramen. Another thing I have done is taken leftover hamburger and broke it into peices and put it in. Sometimes I have added leftover rice too and let it sit and cook. It is ohh soo good!

+HeyWhatsUp You totally can! You might want to alter the marinade though. If you google chicken stir fry marinade, there are tons of great recipes for an altered marinade. As some people helpfully pointed out, once you have cooked the veggies, take them out of the skillet and keep them warm while you cook the chicken first. Then once the chicken is only very slightly pink in the center, you can add the veggies and cook it all together for another 5 minutes or so until the chicken is totally done.
Great vid and (although I feared for your fingers at one point! o-O') I love how you covered the rags to riches of ramen. Ramen is fast becoming my go-to meal of choice when money is tight. Besides they just tast soo good and you can add whatever's in the pantry! yayyy! ^-^
It's pretty much fine to eat uncooked egg yolk, or even the entire egg, almost all eggs in the US are pasteurized (unless you have chickens yourself) and are completely safe. I don't know anyone whose ever gotten salmonella, and I know tons of people who have eaten undercooked/raw eggs. BTW, cooking eggs in hot ramen is totally fine, they will cook completely if you give them time.
Lol. The reason cup noodles were invented was for us to not need a bowl, yet all these "hacks" and "tips" require you to pour the ramen into a bowl for the best results *facepalm* Do these with packaged instant noodles, not defeat the purpose of cup ramen.
i've been doing the egg ramen thing for years i didnt know that was a "hack" but i luv it.. i usually fry the egg separately tho (over easy) style and then break it into the noodles when i start eating.. also i dont use alot of water, i use the full broth packet with just a cup of water and noodles so its just mostly Noodles and my egg... very yummy
I've been doing my own 'Ramen' hacks since I was a kid!! My #1 is Cambells tom soup with instant noodles. I combine 1 can Tom soup and 1 cup milk. Start to heat on medium/low. Add 1 pack instant noodles. Keep low for about 10 mins. Add spinach, salt and pepper. A few dashes of garlic plus finish it off.
I only use lemon and tapatio :)

+HeyWhatsUp You totally can! You might want to alter the marinade though. If you google chicken stir fry marinade, there are tons of great recipes for an altered marinade. As some people helpfully pointed out, once you have cooked the veggies, take them out of the skillet and keep them warm while you cook the chicken first. Then once the chicken is only very slightly pink in the center, you can add the veggies and cook it all together for another 5 minutes or so until the chicken is totally done.

It's pretty much fine to eat uncooked egg yolk, or even the entire egg, almost all eggs in the US are pasteurized (unless you have chickens yourself) and are completely safe. I don't know anyone whose ever gotten salmonella, and I know tons of people who have eaten undercooked/raw eggs. BTW, cooking eggs in hot ramen is totally fine, they will cook completely if you give them time.
You can also check how an egg is bad.w.
The egg cooks in the boiling water. there's no risk of contamination.

i've been doing the egg ramen thing for years i didnt know that was a "hack" but i luv it.. i usually fry the egg separately tho (over easy) style and then break it into the noodles when i start eating.. also i dont use alot of water, i use the full broth packet with just a cup of water and noodles so its just mostly Noodles and my egg... very yummy

I've been doing my own 'Ramen' hacks since I was a kid!! My #1 is Cambells tom soup with instant noodles. I combine 1 can Tom soup and 1 cup milk. Start to heat on medium/low. Add 1 pack instant noodles. Keep low for about 10 mins. Add spinach, salt and pepper. A few dashes of garlic plus finish it off.
I forgot to add that ALOT of people like to add a cheese slice. I'm not on board with that. Try it if you like.
