People may wonder why I'm still here sometimes due to my troubled road I've been through, But to be honest with you. Without Alter Bridge's songs, I wouldn't have gotten as far as I am now, Luckily I'm better then I was.
I used to be so cynical about this band. After seeing them live and after a second listen I have been impressed. It is difficult to be technically proficient, hard-rocking and inspirational at the same time but Alter Bridge has found a way to do so consistently.
+diamondblu7 I personally give all that credit to Tremonti. He's utterly amazing. He writes stuff just to perfectly compliment Myles' voice, and can REALLY shred. I'm glad you came around after giving them a chance
+Tarantul- Anvil The majority of AB III was actually written by Myles. :) Tremonti had input, for sure, but Myles was given more of the reins for the last couple albums. That's why the subject matter is a little bit darker. He said that the lyrics were meant to reflect his unsure mentality when it came to things like spirituality. :) But I LOVE all four of them for all that they do for this band - seriously do not know where I would be today without them.

I could have stayed there forever, and in fact, I very much wanted to. But I couldn't. I enjoyed it for a bit, but eventually pulled myself back to "reality" and my life. I thought about it. And while this would be different than death, in a sense, staying in that state eternally would mean that I would leave this world for another. I thought about how many people would miss me if I did that. How many people still need me here and count on me as a positive presence in their own lives. Probably more than I could even name. This song expresses what I came to understand. We can elevate ourselves temporarily beyond any suffering and pain, but at some point we have to decide... Do we stay there or do we come back to the people who need us, love us, believe in us? I chose the latter. There is too much left for me to live for, left for me to offer. "Life must go on."
I know it's two years late, but I'm very familiar with that state of mind that you described. It's just that I'd rather be in it than not. Still, it's kind of a terrifying sensation in its own way. It's like nothing can get through you, nothing can affect you, you're just an expectator of everything that's going on but you're not a part of it. The thing is, that everything is playing out, even life. So, yes, life go on, that won't change, but as I say I'd rather be an expectator than a participant. Well, that's it. Good luck to you, pal.

I told a close friend of mine how I was feeling, even confessed to her I wanted to kill myself. But she just ignored me, and told me more people have problems too. And I felt guilty, And I'm still. I just want to find motivation again. Please life, please
Hi Alejandra. I saw this comment and I know exactly how you feel. Please hang in there. Life's full of ups and downs but life will get better and easier, it always does even if you don't think it does and doors open. College/University's hard, one of the hardest pathways a person can go through. I considered ending everything this year because everything with uni and life just got too much and was thinking about ending everything all the time for around a month. I'd recommend going for a walk to a place you like but wouldn't regularly walk to. I haven't been to the beach in years and that helped immensely or talking to someone you haven't talked to in a while. That helped a lot as well. I hope this helps and life must go on.
