Temperature and Solubility: Solids and Gases

- We'll look at the relationship between temperature and solubility for solids and gases. How much of a solid or gas solute can dissolve in a certain amount of liquid solvent? We will see the pattern or trend. For solids dissolving in water, it is a generally direct relationship. Although there are some exceptions, as temperature increases, solubility increases as well. For gas dissolving in liquid, it is an inverse relationship: as temperature increases, solubility decreases. We will look at graphs and charts, and also see real world examples. The amount of sugar that can dissolve in coffee (or water) increases as temperature increases. However, soda gets more bubbly as temperature increases, because it is less soluble. Also, less oxygen can dissolve in lakes and bodies of water at higher temperature. This can be caused by thermal pollution, when factories or power plants dump hot water into the environment.

good idie but hey now Corona virus now gone👍👍👍☺️😊😊
Yeaahh
Such a privilege to have you back lecturing on RUclips! Seriously can’t believe that this content is free. Appreciate you man.
I got a notification for the video and I remembered my first year of university 2016 when I was used to watch chemistry videos and I got A+ because of them. Now I'm a graduate but still remember that you helped me ALOT. THANKS ❤️
The memories from this man. How much this legend helped me :)
I think that many teachers nowadays just teach the content without caring whether the student understood it or not. You on the other hand, make me love chemistry and make it easy to learn. Thanks so much sir for creating videos for students like me. You da best! 🏆
The man, the myth, the legend, is back
He's back😤❤
He already came back
hes a demi god !
So glad you're finally back you literally saved me a lot and you've been always useful to me! So much love!
These new videos really need more views. One would expect about a MILLION subscribers watching, especially if they're made by someone as entertaining as you, Mr. DeWitt!
this is so trippy, i watched you all the time in high school- you’re the reason i was able to pass chemistry! glad to see you’re still at it
When the world needed him most he came back
Dear Sir,
I can't demonstrate how you make chemistry topic easier to me
Back in the past you were used to teach us by paper art and now it transfers into digital slide show which is really fabulous.
I wish I could meet you someday sir :")
I just came to check out his channel after watching a bunch of his videos to help with my chemistry homework, and I'm so glad to see him here uploading again- Without him my dumb brain would've never understood all the random letters and numbers on my textbook and i would definitely be failing Chem. THANKYOU SO MUCH MR. TYLER
The only man that can teach Chemistry like no other. You are a genius 👏
At least something happens good in this year he is back yooo
Tyler you are a blessing to all!
Please never stop making these helpful videos.
We encourage you to make more videos based on more advanced concepts.
OMG! Welcome back! Thank you so much for all your help with my Chemistry! You're the best :)))
Tyler your videos carried me in CH221 and your return gives me hope for passing CH222 and beyond. Keep up the great work!
Tyler is changed after 5 years, but come back with same accent and enthusiasm . Thank you
You're back!! I just wanted to say thank you and I appreciate your work, you helped me in AP Chemistry and I couldn't be more grateful. Your content is very helpful and easily understandable in comparison to in-class lectures.
Loving the new beard look, Tyler! It’s great to see you uploading again!
You are such a great teacher. I really understand any topic of chemistry explained by you rather than my actual professor.
Thank you so much 😊
This man Sparked my whole love for science
He showed me that what we learn is school is not useless/boring/difficult , its just that schools teach us in a wrong/uninspiring way.
Welcome Back Legend
How much this legend had and still helps me with Chemistry.
My favorite, your back. Thank you for all your help over the years. I just watch your videos this year for my biochemistry!
Wow! It's great to have you here again, sir. I absolutely love your teaching. Your method makes everything so easy. Thank you very much.
I come across your channel because I remember when I was college student you were my life saver when I stuck in a problem or the text book confuses me. You helped me to understand the whole idea of a lesson in an amazing and exciting way that also make the idea stuck in mind and give an explanation of the subject in short time.
I have graduated in computer engineering 3 years ago but I still come back to your channel often to learn more about chemistry.
Thank you for your amazing tutoring !
Tyler, these are great and it is good to see you again. I think it would be great if you started a series of videos addressing the NGSS. Chemistry is now more about big ideas and very multidisciplinary, so details like the ideas you present in the more recent videos are no longer taught at the secondary level and we chemistry teachers are now considered more “Environmental Science teachers as presented through a chemistry lens”. SURPRISE! 😆 The struggle is real.
Getting this as a notification is the best thing happened today!
We all love you Tyler!! 😍😍
Tyler just helped get rid of my fear and anxiety of looking at and interpreting graphs. I'm thankful.
Every time I see your notification I became very happy. Thanks Tyler for coming back.. You are my role model in education 😀
Wowo that's amazing lecture....I am going to deliver the same points in my lecture for tomorrow.....Thank you sir.
My AP Chem exam is in 3 weeks and just when I needed him most the og RUclips chem legend has returned.
Tyler!!! We all loved your signature method of writing and explaining.. that was amazing!!!!🥺💫💫
I can't believe he's back again 😍
Best teacher ever!! Glad that you are back.
I just wanted to say that these videos helped me a lot when I was in high school. Thank you so much, sir.
Thank you Tyler, this is crystal clear for beginners, very useful and helpful in my studies !
I already have my degree now but I’ll still watch because you helped me a lot when taking chemistry
wow
what degree do you have
You are an excellent teacher.
People from Tamil Nadu, India
@Tyler DeWitt Thank you for returning back and helping us legend !!
OMG 😱😱 I kept my post notification on good to see you again Mr. Tyler
Tyler, you da man👍 thankful for everything! Keep doing your vids.
He's BACK?!?! Hi! My students are gonna be happy to know you're making new videos!
Wow, never have I appreciated technology so much.(normally I am annoyed by cell ads and popups)
Wouldn't have known this teaching genius was back if not for the advertisement on my cell.
Mr. DeWitt is a truly gifted, one in a million teacher.
This icon helped me last semester in my chemistry final and I'll just get into his vids and leave nice comments just because.
I love you
Im a big fan of the way you're teaching Sir. Your videos helps a lot in my teaching career.
Heyyyy tyler!!!! Thanks a BUNCH.. FOR RETURNINGGG💖💖💖
Thanks as always Tyler. Waiting for your next video as always...regards
Loud and clear, it helps me to find spme concept for our chemistry
OMG....u r back...u can't imagine how happy i m as i saw this notification i couldn't believe my eyes
You're aging but your explanations never age, still on point
I’m sure he appreciates the aging comment lmao . Pfft some people .
Omg Im so happy ur back, Hope you'll be able to help me through college. I loved your videos!
Gosh, look how much you've grown compared to other videos that are over 10 years old!
Tyler is back on RUclips all my prayers have been answered 😭🙏
Absolutely amazing video lecture.
Happy to see u again..😊😊😊
Your videos are so helpful!
Hi Tyler! Love your videos. Do you happen to know why the solubility of cesium sulfate decreases with temperature while the rest of the salts go up with temperature?
Thanks for come back 😁😁
Glad to see you again.
I have given total 110 Neet Nta test in 110 days recently what I faced so many times in the paper is the solubility and temp relation of NaCl... I am happy now
Plz brother teach physics and chemistry..im thankful to god that u are back on you tube channel ❤🙌
Welcome back, sir.
welcome back legend, congrats on 1m
Very nice ! How is it filmed? Without hand shadows and with a crisp digital image.
Thanks for answer
Sir, I like your content and teaching style the most, I am your biggest fan..
I WANT TO POINT OUT ONE THING HERE i.e YOU SHOULD MAKE YOUR VIDEOS IN SEQUENCE, MEANS TO SAY CHAPTER WISE VIDEOS, IF YOU ARE TEACHING THERMODYNAMICS, THEN PLEASE COVER EACH AND EVERY TOPIC IN IT LIKE ITS APPLICATIONS, ∆U, ∆H, CALORIMETRY, EMPATHY CHANGE AND REACTIONS, ENTHALPY, SPONTANEITY GIBBS ENERGY CHANGE, EQUILIBRIUM, ETC IN A SEQUENCE, SO THAT ONE CHAPTER IS COMPLETED IN ONE GO, AND NEED FOR OTHER SOURCES MINIMISE,
In short, your videos are good but discrete in view of topics, So it's an humble request from me that you should make videos a full package of whole chapter.
Hope you take my request positively and provide good content in future also.
Oh ya welcome back man your the best 😭😭😭😭 I've missed u
Welcome back, sir!!!
Another great video. You would think that the intuitive reason for solids dissolving more in higher temperature solvents is that the greater internal energy can bust up the crystals easier. (Not sure if that’s the exact reason). However, what would be the reason for decreased solubility, with temperature, of your last compound on your graph….CE3 SO4? Entropy?
He should have explained the reason behind this phenomenon
Highly appreciated 🙏
welcome back legend please keep it up ♥️
Nice to see you again
You’re baaackkk!!💖💖💖
Nice.... The Solubility relationship with pressure is It the same?
Damn that was an excellent video
hell yeah, welcome back!
great video, thank you so much
Return of the King
Sir, Thanks for the video! its very useful! If possible can you explain
what is the mechanism involved to effect the solubility by temperature.
The legend is back ♥️!
At last,you came in...👍👍
I aced chemistry1 like 2 years ago at this point... just here for the iced coffee and soda. I kid, I like to refresh that grey stuff in my head every once and a while
this was really helpful , thank youuu so much
He's backkk. i can finally relax
Welcome back!
Quick question sir
Why do Ionic compounds, in general, have a lesser increment with Temp??
The legend has returned
Big Thank you from a Chemistry teacher 🌹
THE CHEM KING HAS RETURNED!!
The legend is back
glad he's back
You're backkkkk. ❤️
The legend is back
Do university courses most of ur viewers grew up
Is it valid to say that the more deeper you go in the ocean there more oxygen there is?
Thank you sir you helped me graduate from college :)
The legend is back ya'll
Hey would you mind doing a video on raoult's law?
Omg love you sirrrr so much thank you for coming back thank you sir sooo much....
Ohhhhhhhh omg...
I am not able to express my feelings...
Its really a triumph....
my boy Tyler coming in clutch
the king is back!!!!
