Most of these models are Lima toolings might has well put Lima on the box. I doubt many children or young adults will be able to afford £90 - £120 a model the right idea Hornby but the price is wrong.
Thanks Ann ,yes railroad for the money is great value ,including their rolling stock ,Can’t afford full price any more ,& these are just as good with out the fine detail that sometimes breaks off .😊
Who writes the sale tickets are they issued by Hornby themselves or is it the retailer? I only ask as I live in Sunderland and those tickets are exactly the same as the shop where I shopped.
If Hornby are introducing a budget range then they are doing the market a HUGE favour. Many young beginners have been priced out of the market and I suspect that other manufacturers will be watching Hornby closely. Well done Hornby - as relevant today as it has always been.
£45.99 is insane money. Most of those entry level 0-4-0 shunters are barely based on any prototype, and the toolings date from the 70s or 80s. So the tooling costs have all been long paid off. Not only that, but unless Hornby have re-engineered them (I doubt it), the drives are horrible and send the loco whizzing around at a scale hundred mile and hour speed or so. Bad low speed running. They should be £10 to £15, not £45. It's not the shop's fault; this is not far off the RRP given by Hornby.
You have lovely Bachmann Scenicgraft range in the background. Any chance of you doing a posting of Bachmann Scenicgraft? They would be very popular. Thanks.
The 20, 37 and 47 / 57 are, if you collect diesels, the ones to go for, TTS sound fitted, better, bufferbeam detailing is easy with the Hornby 08 detailing packs, and 3 link couplings ; ( new modellers shop ) Illuminated models will provide your directional lighting...all done for just under £145....!
Have to add here - i have a class 47 railroad. It looks ok and runs smoothly......as long as you don't put more than 4 coaches behind it. It is horrendously lightweight and it has truly awful pulling power. Bought it about a year ago.....never again. Hornby - what are you doing?

Inflation. It's a thing.
That Class 20 is a bargain!
Prices need to drop far more than this. No value for money here.
