The biggest issue with controllers on hardcore sims is the lack of wiggle room when it comes to mistakes. Every second you push your car to its limits, you're basically skating on the edge of disaster. I can use a controller on Asseto Corsa for example, but the minute I push a little to hard and begin to lose control, I've had it. Correcting mistakes is borderline impossible.

I play F1 2020 (PS4), i bought a Logitech G29. Let me tell you for those who are considering purchasing a sim wheel, it's going to take you some time to get use to the wheel. You're going to have to calibrate it to your driving style and once you do, you practically have to learn how to play the game again. Don't think you're going to start overtaking from the get go. I'm on day 3 with my Logitech and I'm yet to get me Delta in the green when I was averaging - 3 seconds plus on delta. It is fun though.

I just got my first wheel about a month ago & I can't go back to the controller again. It's just so much more fun.
Talking about which is faster, definitely steering but needs time to get used to. On slow tight corners it's just so much more precise and the car feels much more control. I would definitely suggest it to anyone who likes to play racing games. It's really much more fun than a controller.

During lockdown I've really started to get into GT Sport, especially the manufacturer races. I kept improving at first but now on controller I've stopped progressing. One issue i think is that high speed corners like eau rouge into raidillon at Spa for example basically feel like pot luck at times with the stick. Bought a T150 pro to see if that can bring me the consistency I need to get to the next level and this comparison video has helped me feel that I've made the right decision forking out for a wheel.

Late comment, im a controller driver for 2 years, if you a controller driver plss read this to have a better improvement
    1. Learn to steer by pointing the joystick upward (it takes time but will improve your time results
    2. learn how to control your throttle and brakes
    3. Learn how to trail braking
    4. Learn how to turn by applying the brakes
    5. Practice lifting More often
    6. Learn not to steer more than necessary
    7. Remember that you want your steering wheel to be as close to the center as possible; the more speed you carry i to and out of a turn, the faster your lap time.
    Take your time to practice

long story short, controllers have a middleground level of control and precision whereas sim setups (wheel, pedals, and handbrake) give you borderline the amount of realism and precision as a real car.
the only problem with wheels is the price, and the skill needed to master games with it, where if your using a controller. its 10x easier

@@AverageGameReviews (Edit : I apologise in advance for the long tangent ahead)
I also gave my father to try because he was curious... (by the way , the wheel i got is the G923)
He said that it feels different from real life in 2 ways ... first the gears didnt make sense to him as he is used to manual transmission with a shifter , so he had a hard time with the paddles , something that felt natural to me (it was actually the easiest thing to adjust to even though i was only using automatic up until now on the controller) (also I will buy the logitech shifter soon , and when I do I will ask him to try again)
Also... the pedals felt different to him in the sense that car from car feels different , but it was not unnatural for him , though one thing we both struggled equally with was the stiffness of the break pedal , though this is a logitech-specific thing
also another comment he made was that "it didnt feel real , when you press the gas pedal in real life , you feel the car go, you can see it when you look around you"
i assume that this has less to do with the wheel and more to do with my single 24" monitor and my low quality speakers , though i use headphones for myself
And also one unexpected thing that happened was that my right leg got tired way earlier than my left even though the gas pedal is much lighter than the break which i use the left foot for ... I wonder if there is something wrong with my sitting position that I could fix ...
But all in all, this was a really interesting experience for both myself and my father... and I apologise for the huge comment

I''m' 73 year's old, and getting muscle memory to change is a bitch. However, if given sufficent time, an old dog can learn new tricks. It's taken me 200 of my 260 hours of play to get use to the contrller, while I waited for my wheel to arrive. The first two hundered was a bitch, but when I finally got it, I've enjoyed the hell the last 60 hour's.
Today my wheel arrived, got it set up and the difference from controller to wheel is basically the same as a controller to keyboard and mouse. NOTHING it's taken me 200 hour's to accomplish works. I've got to learn from scratch again. And though I will, even if it takes an additional 200 hour's. I thank GOD for giveing me as much OCD as I apparently have. LOL

I just got a G920, my first wheel, yesterday. It will take some serious adjustments. One thing that is immediately nicer is being able to hold a line around the ovals like it's nothing. But one thing that didn't even cross my mind as being different is getting going straight again out of a hairpin or off the grass. Since you have to physically move the wheel back to center (like in real life, duh), it requires a lot more effort and time. On a pad it happens automatically, in a split second just by the stick moving back to center. Now with a wheel, I'm actually burning calories to accomplish the same thing. I find myself over correcting too. Correcting slides in general is just a completely different game on a wheel. I'm going to spend some time in the single player campaign to try to get used to it before I go back online and ruin my ratings.

Very few pedals have vibration - The most expensive ones definitely won't! Fanatec's V3 pedals do and many people prefer to turn it off. Your sense of oversteer and understeer comes from the force feedback.

Also, don't overlook the fact that you will need a good cockpit to get the most out of a DD.

Can you use a wheel for gta 5 and farm simulator 19 or 22

Gta v requires a mod, but farming sim 19 you can plug in and play but it’s recommended you adjust the wheels setting to get the best out of it, and maybe the same for when fs 22 comes out
