    Love this whole soundtrack.
Criminal that it isn't getting the attention it deserves

I'm working on a few transcriptions of it, but the issue is how long the tracks are...

For some reason, this music makes me want to cry.

Whenever I need to relax I listen to it in the background.
    I love this soundtrack.

this music is incredibly nostalgic , like a deformed theme which has lost its epic or joyful tone, but became now more melancholic, reconstructed from memories, remnant of a time we miss and cherish

i notice it's an alternate variant of the theme

it feels so lonely, but there's a charm to it

I've realized even in Lifeformed's official video of the track, a ton of people like the point at 8:23.
9th and 7th chords are incredibly melancholic while having the ability to freeze chord progressions to make things feel like a suspended fluttering emotion.
All 3 versions of this part of this song hit so hard, and feel like they have their own rapid musical question and answer sequences before reaching the ending sounding lost and unresolved just waiting for it to loop again.

I love synthwave but when u heard this, I wasn't sure what I felt about it, until I heard it a bit more and explored more, it's like I knew what I was doing, like I had experienced it all before but in other games. That's when I realized the feel it evokes. Love this game. Love the puzzles too, I haven't had to use a pen and paper for video games since I was a kid

I love the Forget to Forget version of it all the more for similar reasons. It felt like complexities all coming together.
The beginning of this version though has a deep impression on me as it's the first I saw of the game. It was way back in 2017 before the game even had its trailer music. It's simplicity took me in, and when I heard the other trailer music, I was blown away. I was even more throttled when I realized it was the same artist, LIFEFORMED.

I have finally gotten around to transcribing this piece. If you want to know more about this song's music theory, give this a look: ruclips.net/video/r_wVrj4BRqY/видео.html

Oddly enough, I customized my fox to be similar to your profile picture. Well, they, were given the full NB flag color combination, but still.

Just started playing this and this song reminded me of DKC, part of it specifically sounds like Stickerbush Symphony but overall it just gives me the same vibes as the DKC series music
(This is high praise btw, that's one of my favourite game soundtracks lol)

It's using a ton of the same layering principles. I'm wanting room to eventually transcribe the other version of this song called "Forget to Forget" but just one 4 bar section can literally have 3 patterns on top of the melody arpeggiating everywhere. I gotta set enough time aside to even just touch a small portion of the song.
That song also has the same type of rolling/repeating bass rhythmic pattern thst Stickerbrush Symphony has.
No doubt with how long Tunic took to make (since like 2013 iirc?), Lifeformed may have just made the variation just because he seems to have a few songs that repeat what he's already made but with entirely new synths.

what music genre would this be?

    • @analytomaniac
      @analytomaniac  6 месяцев назад

Genre is hard to determine in video game music because of how many influences get mixed. It's a combination of electronic and background music with some jazz chord techniques.
