Saxophones can sound screamy and harsh on the wrong songs, so much so it was never accepted as a 'proper' traditional instrument. Songs like this prove that they just weren't using it right.

This has got to be the best sax playing I've heard. I dont care that theres more technical playing out there, this hands down is the most emotional, perfect playing. I am inspired and I will strive to become this skilled.

It does sound like a tenor, doesn't it? I'm not a sax player, but I play everything else brass and I have a good ear. I couldn't believe this was an alto. I had to look up his equipment to make sure.

Donald MacIsaac Alto sax and tenor sax are in different key and pitch. Tenor plays deeper while alto sax higher. Each type has its own distinct sound.

I think it's actually quite the opposite. The high B actually sounds exactly how it's supposed to on an alto. It's the rest of the song that sounds much fuller than it should. Throughout the whole song, I keep looking back thinking, "Wait... is that an alto, for real?"
To me, I heard the high B and it just reminded me how great his tone is on the rest of the song.
