  • Welcome to Reforged Eden! Foolishly, I am attempting this rogue start, it wasn't kidding when it said it was 'very hard'. Oh and I know I suck at the game, believe me, I know.

Respect, not many dare to record this start for obvious reasons. I am doing it myself over and over again until I will find the best way to survive. Its like Groundhog day for me, lol. Since then I have learnt a lot how to survive in the game. Nice job. You are very fit with the game. Thumbs up.

Thank you! I did get just, JUST, enough luck here to make it out, finding the tree guy on the hill so that we could dig in and find some copper was immensely lucky. Otherwise, it would have been 2 episodes of walking to the edge of Zirax territory!
A scenario like this sure will make you better off, when you try another one, it will be a breeze to you!

If you're in a hurry to loot bodies, shift+F will quickly loot everything in their inventory with very little fuss.
Great for grabbing and going if you got hostiles in an area.

Thanks! I'm aware of it and should have used it way more here, just wanted try and avoid clogging up my inventory with stuff I didn't need. But yeah it's a handy quick shortcut.

Arousing chorus of "Men of Harlech" should help us through the tough spots!

Ah yes, the old shitty escape start.
The starts on the Rogue planet are all taxing on the patience.
    I died.... so many times...

It was horrible. I got just the right amount of luck to make it out (still died a tonne though)
Not sure how anyone is supposed to do this with the permanent darkness version of this start.
Wont ever go near this start again!

The permanent darkness one is bad, but if you look through the sniper scope you can see much better. Still a nightmare though.@@Chimpy13

This brings back memories. I vaguely remember Spanj playing this. I think he make a bike to get away from the crashed ship. It was long ago.
Hope you have better luck in the next one.
    Nice vid mate.

Yes! I've decided to view his one back. He somehow shot his way out of there... at night! Honestly, it was equal parts luck and immense skill he pulled it off! Thankfully, I am doing the slightly easier version where daylight actually exists on this planet so I'll be able to see what will kill me if I wait a while.
      Cheers!

I know I’m Jonny come lately to this series but why weren’t you scouting with your drone?

    • @Chimpy13

True, it would have been a lot more useful to do that here that running in. That said, I do think going in without doing that makes for a more 'organic' viewing experience. But I should use it more than I currently do.

Wow, this looks great! Kind of reminds me of some mods for 7 Days to Die. Meanwhile, I have been doing lots of reading and experimentation on XCom 2. Loading, new games, and lots of reading. I still have not been able to get the EU Aim Rolls mod going, so it is blacklisted for now. I still get the Primary Secondaries mod needed when I load True Primary Secondaries, but am ignoring it for now. Slowly, I am getting some additional mods incorporated as well, Accurate Rookies, All Soldiers Gain XP are both in with 7 more mods waiting to be tested. I am going for an easier run than the one you are doing, just to get my feet wet. So I feel as though I am making slow but sure progress. One thing I have not been able to find is the stupidly awesome "Trigger Happy" buff that makes XCom personnel fire over and over again. Any advice on how I can find that?
Space Engineers is on hold for now as I have spent hours and hours looking for uranium on floating rocks in space without success. I am over with that bug hunt for now. Looking forward to more content, Chimpy ! =)

7 days looks like a lot of fun, never got around to trying that one. I've been eying up Rimworld as a possible candidate, since I can probably rename everyone to viewers names.
AH the True Primary Secondaries is the one that appears for me when I try and load it up!
Hehe accurate rookies. Takes me back to the old meme of a rookie sticking a gun through a sectoid's face and it says '65% chance to hit'
Trigger happy should be on the gunslinger tree, around rank captain or so. So no additional mods needed beyond RPGO.
You should have a fun run with all those mods, I've not been very adventurous with my ability selection this time out, I should have gone with a few other builds so enjoy experimenting with it!
I'm glad to see they've added more content for Space Engineres. The thing that put me off originally was the 'why' build this thing? Which in Empyrion, isn't a problem with the sheer amount of things to destroy or explore.
      Thanks!

Since you can't get back in and you've already moved on. You never even used the blue key card.

I used it off camera, I promise! I think in the start of part 2 I might have shown a bit of the footage from when I explored it. Can't fully remember if I did show it, but I did use the blue card!

@@Chimpy13 It would be awesome! One trick is that when you get beaten up (without losing limbs or dying) you become a little bit tougher. Similarly, when you haul metal ore from a rock, you become stronger. One can hire different races of strange people in this world to your party and the entire setting is quite fascinating.
