I don’t know why this new Epiphone Gibson F5G homage has not received more fanfare than it has at this point but I can tell you that I purchased one and am completely blown away by the quality of the instrument and right down to the details of the hard shell case. I have owned all generations of off shore instruments including Epiphone, Alvarez, Morgan Monroe, The Loar, The Kentucky and a USA Collings MF5 and if you have three to four times the cash to invest then by all means get the Gibson USA version of this. But as someone who has owned identical models of Gibson and Epiphone guitars and decided to keep the Epiphone version over the Gibson model I can tell you that you won’t be disappointed with this great mandolin. Lightweight, great setup and action. Knit picking the bridge fit which is easy self fix. A slight 0000 steel wool treatment on the back of the superb feeling neck and great ringing sound makes me a happy owner. Great value for someone who is not a professional player but looking for a quality instrument with a fantastic homage green interior hard shell case!
I decided to take a gamble and buy one. I found a brand new one on sale for Black Friday on reverb for 1200$. This is literally the only review of them online anywhere. I took your recommendation and hope you’re right on this mandolin. It looks really nice, I just hope the sound matches. Thanks.

Brownie points for playing Ode to a Butterfly
I wonder how it will compare to the eastman line, which seems to have become the best option for budget bluegrass mandolins.
For the money that Epi F5G is really nice sounding and looking...these may be a big seller.
Would like to see this compared to an Easman 815.
There is no comparison.
@@themandostorewhich one do you prefer?
@themandostore what's that supposed to mean? Which one is better??
That's not the studio, that's the cremona. 1000 bucks price difference..
