Floss idea, brilliant. WD-40, also brilliant (zero damage to any paint or finishes, and it completely melts and neutralizes the remaining adhesive). Plastic scraper for adhesive, brilliant (I used an old credit card). Isopropyl for WD removal/cleanup, brilliant. I added a last step of my standard couple drops of dishsoap in water with an optical cloth to finish, and it's done. Took literally 10 minutes. Thank you. I was worried about damaging the mirror, and it's flawless.

Super helpful. I put blindspot mirrors on a large SUV I bought pre-owned but after a few days the vehicle was giving problems and I was still within my exchange window so was able to safely remove them this way and do an IPA wipedown to make it look like they were never there to begin with. If the vehicle has been out in the sun, it helps to first coat the edges of the adhesive lightly with WD40 and let it soak for a couple minutes before flossing.

This was so on-point. I removed mine with no problem at all. I used a lot of floss only because it was easier to do with a longer piece. I was just too lazy to get a mail except my own nails. lol

    • @mrmightytiger7385

No. Some people use WD-40 on paint to hide how faded their paint Is. And I'd probably rather use Goo Gone or Goof Off since those are meant for removing adhesive. And gas also works well against adhesives.
