I remember seeing Fugazi in Seattle about 94-95 ish, and Ian stopped the show because someone was talking trash and throwing things at him. after the band stopped, he asked if that person "wanted to go outside" and handle things like men. that was a cool moment, and that dude backed down and the band immediately picked up where they left off. lol

I went to a show in the nineties in DC. Shudder to Think opened. The crowd was booing and throwing stuff. Ian came out from the back and let it be known that Shudder were his friends and and if they weren’t treated decently, then Fugazi wouldn’t play either.

True. Most of the time, those who look the most stereotypically punk, are usually just interested in being contrarians and "against the establishment". Many of them might as well have turned into Neo-Nazi skinheads and just happened to become punks. Some of them even don't think there's much of a difference between the two even though punks should be ideologically polar opposites of Nazis.

What i never got about ian is the whole "Straight edge" thing because he'd talk about drunk people fighting at their gigs, and then he'd be the one punching and attacking the audience.

He didn't punch or attack anyone? He restrained someone who was acting like a drunk asshole.

Yea in this instance, but other footage of gigs when he was in Minor threat he'd come on stage and be on his knees headbutting people stood at the front of the stage. The drunk dude reminds me of the cider "punks" you get over here in Britain all wearing the same leather jackets and matching rediculous over the top mega long spikey mohekan. Anyway 🥓 I'm a DEVO head. Spuds Unite.
