After 2h of work i finally repaired my hd03, overheating 3 red dots blinking and it was not by cleaning the filter or interior. Hope i never have to open it again what a pain in the ass.

How did you repair it in the end? It sounds like mine had thr same issue.

Bad soldering point on the board for the heating element. Was making the dryer overheat after some seconds on max heat. Hope that solves your problem.👍

So I had to disassemble my wife’s Dyson and the end cap with hot/cool buttons is a pita to get it to move. How much prying force did you end up using to separate from housing? Or am I missing something? You went off camera then it was apart. Or is it not worth the time to pull apart? Thanks for video.

Once the buttons and all the screws are removed it just slides off

@@Wilko159 we’re talking about the purple cowling? That’s what I’m trying to pry apart.

Sorry, yes that but just pulls off, it does take quite a bit of force and several plastic levers!

Could you turn on the hair dryer prior to fixing it? Or was there any light turning on? I’m considering trying to fix my hairdryer but mine does not turn on at all

It would already turn on, so you may have a different fault I think. Although if you disassemble it you might find something obvious like a broken wire or connection

The overheating is clearly a design flaw and has little to do with dust. It's a shame Dyson don't take care of it.

True, i removed the silver filter and left off. Works now without shutting. off.

I Agree with you totally. Dyson told me the product is discontinued and they cannot fix it. My hairdryer only lasted 2 years. I am not going to buy Dyson again.

The red button adjusts the temperature.
The other button adjusts the fan speed (air flow).

I'm not 100% sure. There are no markings on it. I'll try to measure it today.

a T6 star bit for the circular metal filter. The metal filter always clogs up on the inside, just needs a wash and will solve the overheating issue due to lack of air flow
