About 3 years ago I met you at lakeside bait and tackle. I was looking at plastics and you just started giving me advice about the ones you liked. You then told me about your channel. Not being an avid RUclips watcher at the time I didn't check your channel out till 6 months later. Its cool to see you fish allot of lakes im familiar with. Great content over the years!
We met again at the bait shop in May this year and had a cool conversation.

I like when you catch fish that surprise you… haha . I just get a kick out of fishing but since I don’t get the chance as often as I would like, your channel is a great place to learn and enjoy watching someone with similar outdoor interests and style have fun fishing 🎣

I subscribed because I fish much like you do. My boat is even similar. And you share and teach things that work. You can catch as many fish as the guy with the 70,000 dollar investment. Simple works and I hope many people enjoy the sport simply after watching channels like yours.

    Hi Dave,
I subscribed because I like to watch anglers fishing in Wisconsin. I hope to learn things: techniques, tackle, places, etc. If I may be critical, I'd like to see you shorten your videos. For example, in this video, perhaps you could have summarized in 30 seconds what didn't work. And then told me what was working and showed yourself catching some fish. Or, if there was no clear pattern, then quickly described the few ways you did catch fish. You have a habit of repeating yourself. Sometimes it is ok, but the redundancy can cause me to stop watching. For me, I like videos that are about 6-9 minutes in length. I do enjoy that you are fishing out of simpler boat. I also enjoy that you speak plainly. I appreciate it when you describe a little about the situation in your introduction; the recent weather, the date, the water conditions, and time of day. I live in northwestern Wisconsin, so I probably will never fish in the water bodies that you fish. Nonetheless, I think it would be an incredible show if you would run through some of your favorite lakes. Something like, for bass I like lakes A, B, and C. For crappies, my favorite lakes are D, E, and F. For a combination of different species, try lakes D and L.
I saw you fishing with Lance on AnglerX and that is how I found your channel.
I like Lance's videos and his lessons. I also like Caleb Wistad's channel; he might be the best teacher on the channels that I watch. I used to like Tom Boley, but I rarely fish for walleyes and so I've mostly stopped watching his videos.
I do know that you spend a lot of time making your videos and I do watch and appreciate you bringing your fishing experiences to me! THANK YOU for your time, efforts, and sincerity! And thank you for asking for feedback. I offer my comments only in the spirit of trying to help you and not to denigrate your efforts.
I enjoy your channel! Thank you,
    Dave

@@drdavewi I appreciate all of the constructive criticism. There’s a lot of useful information to digest here but one big thing I would like to explain is the reason I started filming videos was to bring people along on adventures that I am on and to document my life’s journeys… I never wanted to have a TV show style channel where all I do is “how to” videos and give people the answers. I prefer to encourage people to go out and explore and do some actual fishing that involves the learning side of fishing like I love so much about the sport.
