I am not a custom car freak but that is brilliant and you have kept the iconic rear lights. Full marks from a76 year old fuddy duddy who drives a '91 90 Defender 200 tdi.
I think it's a great way to save what the couple bought. An awful lot of work has gone into this conversion, and I like how distinctive they have made it. Definitely a hint of Thunderbird at the front. It certainly stands out now! ❤️👍
I think it's absolutely gogorgeous what ab extremely tasty resto mod after the car 2as originally cane from had been cut up and the grey interior suits the car and that paint colour very nice

Nice custom job. I used to go to all the custom car shows with my dad. We loved it. The in thing nowadays seems to be originality, which I tend to appreciate more nowadays. Customs are still brilliant though. I think I would have liked to see the original Cortina grill and maybe a slightly more subdued colour. Still v nice though. This would have made the cover of Street Machine back in the 80s
Would never be able to return it to stock. That's what the bloke said. So better to be on the road in this carnation. Never be able to get all the little trim and interior pieces anyway.
I have one word - FANTASTIC!

Brilliant
Hi Noel, thanks for commenting
Love It.....
Hi Jay, yes a lot of fun
Certainly a very different build love the colour very similar to a Yamaha motorbike I used to own. Those old V8's do make a nice sound to.
Couldn't agree more!
Geeze! You had me worried for a second; I thought owner dude was wearing budgie smugglers.
😂 trick of the light
Love the fact that it’s V8
Yes has extra fuel tank in the back
Would be nice if we could actually hear it over the music ! 🤔
Half Cortina ...Half tiger...Cortiger !
Hi Romemancer, Welcome to the channel ,that’s a great name for it
Ha ha ! That is wild. Love it all apart from the grill, not too sure about that. V8 Cortina 👏👏😂
Hi Selwyn, thank you for getting involved, it’s alot of fun
Agreed, the standard Mk1 grill was so iconic they reimagined it again on modern fords
Wouldnt say no to owning that beast, as is though!
Not keen on the mesh grille but the car is a lovely piece of work.
Hi Dave, welcome to the channel thank you for getting involved 😊
Has the look of a ford thunderbird.
Yes it does
If you want to see how a Cortina could have morphed into a Thunderbird, look up Ford's own concept in 1964 - the Saxon Cortina
Hi Simon, thank you for sharing
Looks like a 56 mini thunderbird
Yes it does
120 mph ?! . Obviously on the autobahn 😂😂😂
Couldn’t get away with that in this country
@@Classiccarstories 🤔😂
Of course 😉😂
Funny how i knew it was a kawasaki colour sad but true. I think it's from a fizzy originally
She can barely see over the steering wheel ❤😂
Mk 2 Consul Grill.
Yes looks very similar
I was going to post the same until I saw yours! My dad had a mark 2 consul highline in sky blue.
@@PJD_55 sounds good
I had a consul cortina
Front looks like a mk2 consul
Yes another viewer mentioned that 😊
I no the car it does the same car show as i do i my 2cv
Hello John, post a picture of your car on our fb page “This is my classic” facebook.com/share/g/BJZ6hBwDPNGNcvYu/?mibextid=K35XfP
The colour came from a Kawasaki motorbike colour, they should have renamed the Cortina to fastasfuki.
Very funny 🤣
Looks fantastic till you see the back thouse ugly standered lights are still there
Thank you for commenting carfan
God. Are you American?
It has an a American vibe
Don’t sound American to me.
What a waste of a mk1 ffs
I have to disagree, better a custom than crushed due to rot and shoddy previous repairs.
Would never be able to return it to stock. That's what the bloke said. So better to be on the road in this carnation. Never be able to get all the little trim and interior pieces anyway.
Just another mk1 cortina with the roof chopped off. Waste of time and effort.
My old mum used to say “if you haven’t got anything good to say don’t say anything at all”.
Ruined .
Lovely build.
