I was born in the 1990's and have stopped listening to mainstream music at around 2014 simply because I "grew out" of music and people my age don't know who is famous anymore.

I highly disagree. Miley is the hit maker. Demi's songs are overall the best musically, vocally, pure art. Selena has a perfect vision for her albums. But she doesn't have that huge of a hit song. Every song that Miley puts out, it turns viral. Flowers, Wrecking Ball, Malibu etc. Her songs are more known.
Selena sings well and is a great artist but the most popular and the one who has made the most music is Miley. She has been selling music since Hannah, then Hollywood Record, then Bangerz, now she won 2 Grammy Awards and if you investigate, Miley is the 25th best-selling singer in the world. Demi I don't like the girl, she has no talent other than a long-suffering and crazy person, I think that instead of her it would have been camp rock it would have been Ariana I also like her but Ariana was more successful than Miley but of the 3 the one that sells the most is Miley
