Thanks! Few times I was trying to use vdb for smoke and similar staff it always gave me huge render times and noisy results. Another reason to come back to this and solve :)
@@JonasNoell If you take requests, Jonas - a desert shader that reacts to, say, a stone so that it sweeps around such an object naturally and creates a kind of ripple effect around it. Slightly sloped, like in reality. That would be great.
You can either generate them yourself with appropriate software such as PhoenixFD in Max or in Houdini, or other external software. You can also purchase them online or find some free ones.
@@JonasNoell oh that's nice. So the threadripper would actually out do the 4090? Because I heard you say you have stronger CPU that's why you used CPU.
@@myown-ht4lk At the time of the video I only had a 3060Ti, I guess now especially rendering volumetrics the 4090 should certainly be faster. But I haven’t tried it in this scenario yet

what cpu do you have?
Thank you for the tutorial. I was having an issue with noise in the clouds, your tutorial helped me to fix it. I wish I found this video a month ago.
Glad it helped!

You continue to impress! Thank you for all your work!

It can be quite slow and frustrating but hopefully with the tips from the video you can get better results 😀
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you
Amazing tutorial as usual. Thanks for sharing. Can we customise the size and shape of the cloud ?
The existing cloud you could scale and squeeze it. But if you want a completely different shape you would have to generate or simulate a new VDB
@@JonasNoell thank u very much.
super cool is this!! 🤩
This was great!!
Hello, great tutorial as always. Would you be so kind to do one on making a desert. much appreciated.
Ok I will add it to my list

Do you have any reference for that? (info@jonasnoell.com)
@@JonasNoell I would like to see a tuto for desert too!! like realistic desert shader tuto sth like that XD
how can i render it using chaos vantage?? is it possible?
Can you provide this volumetric cloud script
Where do you get the vdb files ? You have to generate it with a volumetric software ? (aaah if only VRay clouds worked froma bove as well... :p)
You can either generate them yourself with appropriate software such as PhoenixFD in Max or in Houdini, or other external software. You can also purchase them online or find some free ones.
What kind of CPU are you using?
Threadripper 3990x
What GPU are you using?
CPU was used for rendering in this video: Threadripper 3990x. For GPU is 4090
