    Great video. Now I "need" to go and buy a throttle lock and kickstand extender....thanks for helping me spend my money.
    I like the stock cowl too and hae kept it on mine except I added a Ravetech mini skid-plate which fits inside the cowl. I don''t even see it and comes off easily by removing 4 allen bolts. Much better than trying to drain through a little hole and making a mess. Giive me peace of mind.

    Great video. A Crash bar/engine guard is very necessary even if you don't go off road, especially for a smaller rider.

    I too ordered a seat concept for my bike. They will make the seat to your weight plus riding equipment. A local upholsterers done my seat as the cover needed to be cut and resewn to fit . A lot more grip on the new seat.

    I just bought a 2023 Vstrom 650XT. I love the bike. I had a 1200 gs before but it got too heavy for me, being an old man. I had it set up perfect and shouldn't have let it go. But, hey, life's mistakes. Anyway, I have a question: You bought a Seat Concepts tall seat. I am also tall at 6'3" and installed the peg lowering kit. However, I'm looking at going to Bill Mayer Saddles in Ventura. I think you live in that neighborhood and wondering if you had considered BMS? Thanks for the videos.

    Beautiful strom. I think that is the best color combination. I just bought a 2022. Was wondering with the Shad top box did you have to buy the mounting plate and can you fit a full faced helmet inside. I don't know how tall it is.

    You mentioned a couple of times that you’re tall, but never said how tall. What’s your inseam? Also, any issues with the spoked rims? Can the wheels be trued if necessary? Your mods look tasteful and well done. Good stuff.

      Thanks, several videos where I discuss my height. I'm 6'4" inseam 34". Yes the spoked wheels can be trued.

    For the footpeg lowering brackets... did you also do their gear shift relocation, or just the bracket? With the pegs moved down/forward, and being tall/large foot, didnt know if you noticed much difference with the gear shifter as a result.

    • @CPUspeed
      @CPUspeed  3 года назад +2

      No I did not, just the bracket.

    Hi, when you fit lowering brackets do you have to do anything to the gear lever or brake lever? Is this a non-invasive option?

    Hi Interested to check out the accessories you have fitted to your Strom.
    I own a 2019 DL650A Strom, not the XT. Last of the alloy wheel models (in Australia).
    I wish to fit a sidestand foot as you have, (I had ordered a SW Motech one), but advise says you should NOT fit one with a centrestand. The problem apparently in that if you have the sidestand up, and the bike on the centrestand. When you push off the stand, the stand fouls on the larger sidestand foot, causing the centrestand to be held low. The stand can touchdown easily upon cornering. Dangerous.
    Have you any experience with this problem?
    Regards, Ray.

    Hi there 😊, just wondering does the side stand extender foot plate foul the centre stand when in the up position, ie when both are up? Thanks from Gary.

      No it doesn’t. One of the most underrated mods. I even forgot it and had to do a dub over to mention it. It’s a must have on any adv bike.

    Did you have to drill your windshield for the MRA X-Creen or does it clamp on? I am currently setting up my 2020 650XT ADV. Great content.

      Clamp on. Check the links in the description. The tutorials by twisted throttle are great.

    Hi
    I am Roby, from India .
    I am 5'8" & I feel leaned over during long rides in my Vee 650.
    I was wanting to pick up a Handle bar riser for long road rides - Handle bar risers are usually spoken as tall boys things - what do you feel ?
    How many mm risers should I consider ?
    A very nice video from 😎
    Thanks 🙏

      Hi Roby. I have a 2017 VStrom 650 XT
      I have risers 26mm up and 20 mm back
      That is the maximum the cables will stretch to without putting in new cables
      I feel much more comfortable with the risers and it is much better for standing up when riding
      I am 5 foot 11 inches

    • @CPUspeed
      @CPUspeed  3 года назад +1

      From what I have seen of the new gen of tracer9GT Yamaha when back to the drawing table and put together a well balanced sport tourer. It has everything you would ever want and I definitely would recommend it. Personally the bike is a little small for me and I need to stick to adv bikes.

      Thanks for the reply, I'm wondering what the difference is with the Tracer9 or similar to the vstrom, I'm riding a vstrom for the past 2 years, what I mean is what is the difference between an ADV and a sports tourer?

    • @CPUspeed
      @CPUspeed  3 года назад +1

      Front wheel size. ADV bikes have 19 or 21 inch wheel for going off road. The tracergt has 17 inch front wheel. The tracer and bmw 1000xr look like an adventure bike but have a normal front wheel. Greater contact patch allows you to go faster in the turns.
