Definitely gonna try these Gareth thanks for the review. With egg beans and black pudding get up! 110 thousand subs coming up,keep up the good work fella👍
I can vouch for them Gareth, was in Birmingham visiting my sisters and she done these for lunch. Soft white floury sub they fit just right in, a drizzle of Hellman's and line of Coleman's down the centre. Absolutely smashing gon. You're about a runny egg added too, haven't tried that one yet but defo on the cards. Glad to see no more jaw issues. Since your abstinence from the booze you're thriving and a picture of health. Good on ya soldier! 🫡
Actually not a bad idea. Quite a few people have digestive issues with sausage skins and these solve that problem. I remember in the 90's Sainsbury's used to sell "Breakfast Slices" which were pork and beef and great in a sandwich. These remind me of those. 👍
This looks like a game changer , but windy in Watford today so I’m out in the morning early to get these . Honestly this could change my life lol cheers sir
Heck family run British business known for its quality pork products you can't go wrong. I seem to remember that they featured on a TV programme that shows their path from a struggling farm to a successful business
5:36 As you just said, these are just oblong pork patties! I buy the round Aldi Oakhurst frozen patties, 96% pork, six in a box, 342g net weight, £1.99. I had one this morning for breakfast. Delicious. The only difference I can see is that the Heck product is more expensive, but fresh, not frozen, and you only get 300g.
I tried these - they were special offer at Asda (£2.50). I cooked them in the airfryer (4 minutes I think), and then melted a slice of cheddar onto each for the last minute of cooking. I then placed one in a medium sized wrap, drizzled with BBQ sauce, rolled it up and ate it like that. I would have done lettuce as well if I'd had some. But it was really nice. I don't know if I'd get them again, though, as they were very dense and not as smoked as I'd expected them to be. Still, at 50p each you really can't argue.
Personally, I found them a bit rubbery/chewy and would stick with standard sausages cut in two for a sausage sarnie. However I did grill them, so perhaps frying them is the way to go.
Picked up pack from my local ASDA, just tried them lunch, what a treat. Thick and meaty, nice texture and flavour. I will be buying more and storing them in the freezer for a rainy days lunch or my try with mash and onion gravy. Thank for the recommendation
Certainly not overpriced for such a high meat content. 97% is absolutely fantastic. I have had, some of heck stuff, lovely. Fabulous video Gaz. Thanks.
Excellent review, I thought the only thing missing was a bit more flavour so I added a sprinkling of cracked black pepper when cooking, that did the job for me.
Reminds me of the late great American stand-up comedian Mitch Hedburg - "we got turkey baloney, turkey sausages, turkey burgers... someone needs to step in and say DUDE just be YOURSELF" 😂
Heck good stuff, i normally buy some if i see it on the shelves. Ive just come back from our local farm shop, had to go pick a tree. Also picked up some bacon and eggs, you cant beat fresh local sourced stuff. The missus also picked up some Vodka and Lemon spread. 😊
These look fantastic and they'll be great if you want to make a sausage sandwich but better than bacon Gareth..no way!! As always a great video..keep them coming mate.
Got mine in Morrisons two weeks ago on offer.found them to be excellent and didn't have to cut them.well worth the money.havr looked this week and shelf was empty..fit my baps very nicely.
They look great, thanks for the recommendation. You mentioned having them with bacon, eggs etc; are those things not meant to replace the bacon? Then again, can you have too much bacon?
Oh Gareth, only the other day I told you. Round is the shape of the sausage🐷🐖. False square Lorne are no true banger. And now " What wot the heck " a fantastic idea, probably just an accident at the factory. A fork lift ran over a pallet of their finest, and rather than waste them " sausage bacon " was born. There's no doubt we, the sausage lovers never knew we needed this. Oh the food doors this will open. Fried eggs sitting flat on my sausages, sarnies made so neat and tidy in the Brevil. Thank you, thank you George, thanks for the un-named recommendation senders. I'm lucky to have a large Morrison's near to me. Great to see your happy face, a joy. Bet when you stopped filming, the pan went back on and the other 4 were cooked 😋😋👌👍'till the next video Allan&Family
Went to try these the other day in Asda, but they were all out. Went back this morning and not only were they in stock again, the price had dropped to £2.50. Spot On!
The best brown sauce we ever had was Hammonds Chop Sauce, but that disappeared from the shops about 6-7 years ago. After trying various others HP ( not very good) Daddies ( even worse, and also a very thin consistency) and various supermarket own brands, we settled on Aldi's Bramwell's Brown Sauce, as the best substitute. We'll give the Sauce Shop a try next time we need any.
These are Great. Got them delivered by ASDA...only £2.50. Thanks for the tip. I'm housebound so everything has to be delivered but some products you have reviewed are not available here in London. Keep up the good work and tour personal chalanges..😁😁😁
Morning Gareth thank you for the vlog on Heck sausage rashers . I did try the Heck sausages after seeing your vlog ages ago but didn't like them as not mad on sausages anyway but they were meaty. However I will give the sausage rashes a try. Bit pricy though. Look like the sausages flattened out. Thank you for the vlog enjoyed it as always and glad you enjoyed the rashes. Sue
We have a family member who doesn't eat meat, but we were having a big fry up/BBQ during the Euros. Got Heck's meat-free range for them, absolutely delicious, brilliant smokey, peppery flavour to them. Did a blind taste test between meat and meat-free and whilst I could tell a difference it wasn't a bad difference at all, if anything the meat-free had a bit of a kick to it. They definitely value quality, unlike Richmonds...
Just new here I literally came across channel today but have subscribed now lol live quick food testing channels .and I buy meat free products lots of proteins like the quorn or Linda McCartney or the Richmond meat free sausages very good range of meat free items in shops too
let's be honest £3 or very close to is now an average price for most supermarket top of their range own brand sausages and Heck are generally considered a top range brand so that price isn't too excessive
Morning,, just a quick question The frying pan you use what brand is it ? Asking because im looking to get a new one and the one you use seems to be good quality
Bought these from Morrisons at the weekend after seeing you video. Found them a bit gelatinous and chewy / rubbery. Wasn't a big fan. Wife liked them, but she lacks taste, hence she married me.
I know I complain about Water being the 2nd ingredient BUT, you can see it's only 3% of the whole thing in this case. In cheap stuff it can be more than 30%, so in this case not a bad thing.
Brill. In Canada we don't have Greggs, or even, in general pick up and go meals at the supermarket etc, but then, our fast food is generally much cheaper. I did try to find something comparable frozen, but expensive here. Meat here is cheap, hickory smoked ham 4kg $16.82 CAD.
Good review, as usual, thanks. I don't understand why they call them rashers? A rasher is a thin slice of bacon or ham. They should be sausage slices or something similar. £3 for 6 slices isn't cheap unless you'd pay that for six medium sized sausages. I think they're OK for a change but not regularly. As for the serving suggestions, who would choose fresh blueberries with that product? Each to their own. Have a good weekend.👍
Morning my friend. I watch every video you put out. Most of your videos there’s a pattern of food company’s trying new ways of charging more for less. £3 quid for 6 sausages. But it’s ok cause we will flatten them and say there like bacon.
@@RJAH355 Own brands are less content. Tesco's own are 72%. Richmond's are 42%, and they're £2.60 for 8. You get what you pay for in life, you're not getting robbed. Even Tesco Finest are only 90% pork, Heck give you 97%
Did a bacon and raspberry/blueberry/strawberry puree the other day well worth trying :). Sausages are always dependant on meat quality and these do look very decent, they don't look mushy. Will have to give these ago and at £3 its a quid for a good sausage sandwich what's not to like :).
Very good looks tasty. Just a bit of nitpicking but it might be important to some people; in the the introduction you said it doesn’t contain nitrates but it doesn’t say that on the packaging but it does say it doesn’t contain nitrites otherwise a good review. Looking forward to forward to having sausage/bacon sandwich which doesn’t fall apart.
Hope there are no vegans in your channel Gaz lol looks good these, I often take the casings off sausages purely for the fact it gets a great crizzle. Heck are good, might have a look in Tesco tomorrow.
"Better than Bacon" that my friend is a bold statement Nothing is better than bacon 😂
Says the pack.
Maybe these are better described as a squashed skinless sausage, rather than sausage rashers. 😊
@@Pete_R I know....what????
MORE bacon ! That's better than bacon 😉
Agreed 💯
So its a Squashage ??
