I’m in my mid 60’s. I spent too much time watching TV in my youth…I remember too many of these ads. Show of hands: How many of you can recite the Minnesota School Of Bartending ad? Not in this video, but hey, I know you know it.
KSTP was the top station in Minnesota back in 1978. Now of days, KSTP is now #2 in the ratings behind WCCO. But also, I think KSTP can return to the top station in Minnesota. Since KSTP is now a ratings powerhouse in the morning & 2nd place overall.
@@PC-ne7xjthings weren't that great in 1979. Johnny Carson was the only asset NBC had and he was constantly throwing out punch lines about the network.

@@paulsonj72Not to be a nit-picker, but it was formally announced on the 29th.

Peter Thomas on that American Express ad I think
No area codes needed! Every one in the metro had the same one back then!
I didn't know KSTP was an NBC station
It is the oldest in The Gopher State.Launched on 4/23/1948.
Now an ABC affiliate since 3/5/1979.

Ironically Dick Clark would himself die of a heart attack in 2012.
