Great session mate. Never take it for granted fishing with the old man, having lost dad over a year ago now ive learnt that it can be all taken away from you in the blink of an eye.
Just goes to show, right place at the right time can't be beat. Some very nice catches and hope you and your dad had a great time and enjoy your feed of Reddies!!!
Some nice fish there Robbie and good to see Dad get a few too! Back in the day I used to use Baltic bobbers in the lakes round Mt Gambier once a school was located, absolutely deadly on redfin.
@@robbiefishing yeah I go for north Melbourne, we’re not very good, I’ve been to 15 games in 2 years and never been t a win, we’re just in a rough spot atm

Hiya rob Excellent, in fact I watched it twice lol.. A perfect day ...and some nice fish , dad did well mate and looks in good form... A big thank you to both you and dad.. Godbless and hope everyone is well.. 😎🏴🎣
@@robbiefishing True. I went out to Rainbow Lake this arvo, as my last shout for fishing out here. I got more fish in 2 hrs there than I have the last 2 weeks around the Wimmera area! Still, it was a bit disappointing/annoying, as I drove all the way to the Mallee, only to catch 10 bloody RB trout! TROUT for GS! I go to the Mallee/Wimmera for NATIVES! I got checked by fisheries also!
Great day out with your dad . I’ve got that same little repala lipless crank bait. Same colour and all . Caught a few yellows and reddies. Cheers Robbie mate 😊
Some times you have a day where you have to work hard not to catch a fish! I've heard of some people casting as far as 20-30 feet from the boat when anchored. Madness! lol
Hi mate, we just troll until we find a few fish and then drop the anchor. There is a fish finder in dad's boat, but it's only a basic one to help us with the depth.
Great video mate. So good to see you out with your Dad, cherish every moment you have with him. Ps. If my wife ever offers to trim your beard I strongly suggest you politely decline; she’s not to be trusted with scissors. Trim she asked, bloody nearly took my chin off!😂
@@robbiefishing I had flashback when I saw you bobbing for reddies. From memory I think they were lead encased in epoxy and you passed the line through and tied a treble on.
no leeches on these fish? haha one of my best perch session was during the setting sun: had lot of perch ganging up on small rudd near the shore and I used a perch imitation softplastic and every cast i landed fish for 1 full hour was insane as
Hi Geraldine, that is just a myth. You are not allowed to relocate them, it be in possession of live redfin, but you most certainly ARE allowed to release them back into the water in which you catch them in both NSW and Victoria. It is illegal to release them in South Australia though.
Hey Robbie i caught my biggest trout on baby redfin i tried to hit off my hook instead i wish i had camera back then the trout jumped out of water to get the redfin this was in the tumut river 1980
A ripper of a father and son fishing trip, you must have been sitting on a monster school of reddies... Always good to take a good feed of reddies, beautiful eating fish and help keep the numbers in check a little 😅
We can here in Victoria, but only back into the water we catch them. If I was in SA and wanted to release them I would. Ain't nobody going to tell me what I do and don't have to kill. 👍👍
@@robbiefishing cool since when I went to Tasmania on holidays last year at Big W I bought like a 20 dollar extendable rod and 10 $ spinner lures things and caught 3 Redfin perch in a nice random creek we drove by for my first time btw I live in Northern Queensland so I don’t get them up here
Hi mate, I prefer to release them. The emphasis is on not establishing new populations in areas that don't have them. But in areas where they already exist, I prefer to release them to grow bigger.
You do realise they’re here to stay just like carp, there’s no chance of ever eliminating them, they breed too quickly, aswell as being voracious predators
Hey Robbie, cracking video. Quality father and son time.😊😊😊
Thanks so much mate. 👍👍
Love this video! It brings back memories of fishing with my dad. Best times of my life. Thank you 👍

Hey robbie how fast do you trawl your lures?
Hi mate, as slowly as possible. Dad's motor is a bit too fast so we always troll at idle speed. If we could go a little bit slower we probably would.
Was this in the last day or two Robbie??
I noticed that the air pressure was pretty high yesterday.
