If you really want to make it. The skill you need is "how to learn from the internet". If you learn where to lookup for information, understand it and then apply it, you will be extremely successful. I did not understand who you are trying to ask but let me clarify you something if you are a beginner learn C/C++ If your university teaches C then go for it because you will learn linux development which is good. If your goal is the work on high performance systems, and do competitive programming then learn C++ in your first/second year on the side although you'll be having java in college coursework 2nd year(For me it was the case). Now if you are not that interested in developing high performance systems but into enterprise apps then choose java and learn spring boot basics, do projects while continuing doing leetcode/ Codechef in java/ C++ that's your choice. If you do not like enterprise development and you are more interested in small scale to medium scale development where development is fast choose python/javascript where you will be taught web development in third year. This will be your placements time and learn python/ js well on the side because learning a programming language is easy because C++/ Java are not so easy to develop and python/js is easy. Now see you have so many options
