Well worth the wait! Thank you for the patience and diligence in listening to and addressing all our needs. It's products like blackout that keep up with and revolutionize our industry and workflow.
Well done, Jeff. So glad you and the team decided to rebuild from the ground up. The new app's sophistication is amazing. I wish there was a Lite version for users with the simplest needs like setting intensity and color on an interview set with a few fixtures. Like the Davinci Resolve pricing model, a lower cost of entry would introduce many more users to the app, allow them to become familiar with the UI, and eventually they'll upgrade when they want the advanced features. For pro gaffers BlackoutApp's price is a no-brainer, but there are many DoP's and part-time gaffers who will stick with Luminair or Stagelight or Sidus or not even use DMX at all.
Sorry for naive question but what exactly are "Dim Channels"? I have got messed up with these while patching and naming a fixture only to find instead of name of fixture it just says Dim Channel.
Blackout v2 has taken over the old app. Blackout v1 has stopped being supported and will eventually die. This is just necessary software evolution to bring the features people want into the app.
I still don’t see why would anyone buy this instead of spending a few hundred more on an MA onPC node and have an actual console setup with WAY more options, customer support, and compatibility with ANY of the large productions where this “app” will never be used, simply because it’s too limited for anything other than a basic commercial.
great video, Jeff! So now that 2.0 is out in the world, who else thinks it time for the hoodies to be available to to the world???
Well done Jeff, thank you and your team for this wonderful tool in our industry. 🙌🏾 🎥 👍🏾

Looks great! Fixtures are so complicated these days 😅
Yes and when each manufacturer follows a different way or writing a DMX profile 🤬

wonderful
How much is it to download? is it a monthly subscription or a one time cost?
Muito bom
Why not just call the app Blackout Next? Having the same name as the legacy app but no backwards compatibility sounds like a really bad idea.
