The part where the giant ball chases you and the smaller balls try to kill you: I used to INVENT new cuss words as a teenager trying to get past this level! Oh man, did I *HATE* that level! The level at 6:13 has a cheat: If you move your floating horse sort of up the wall on the left as far as it will go nothing will hit you. All things considered they did an amazing job conveying the general idea of Dragon's Lair in these games. A direct translation would pretty much be impossible.

Etenkin "heppaosuuden" musiikki on komeaa kuultavaa. Viimeisen tason musiikki muistuttaa mielestäni hieman Fist II - The Legend Continues -pelin taustalla soivaa vakiosävelmää.
I was a huge fan of the arcade machine version. Bought the first DL game on the C64 and was hugely disappointed. The 2nd one was infinitely better and the music score, main score and for each level was so good it still sticks in my mind to this day
Same. But at least the C64 tried to mimic the arcades style of play. Many others, like the NES version, were hot dogwater. Purely a rip-off to the fan base

It's actually the same game in the arcade. The problem is that computers couldn't match the hardware, so most computer ports split the game in 2 parts.
One of my first games I got together with my C64 as a 10 year old. Both me and the rest of the family had a lot of fun with this game. The first level was quite challenging despite looking so simple.
I wish there was a way of ripping the boulder alley level music like in this video. Love that tune but no video of it plays the music correctly its always muffled (apart from this video but the level ends too quickly)
This is the correct version of the music. To play it like this, you need to find a playback or an emulator that uses the 8580 SID. There was a slight revision to the SID that was made a few years after the original to save battery power and be cheaper to manufacture. Most games sound better using the original 6581 SID, but there are a few times where the 8580 SID was a better option, and this is one of those cases. Even with the newer SID, most programmers still used the older SID design. There are just some slight differences.
a silly mess of stupid sub games, no fantasy feel, no atmosphere... The only Dragon's Lair is the real, laserdisc, arcade version (with all its limitations)

There are SID players like SidPlay2 which can play and export SID files to wav files.
