oh my....if ONLY I was blessed with such talents, gifts from God....but I try, but my 71 yr old brain doesn't work well...but in the quiet of the night, when my pain is bad and I can't sleep, I go into the living room and play passion and without reservation..., NO one there to fault find or tell me what my folks always told me, that I was too stupid to learn to play piano....eventually, I stopped begging. I was around 5 years old when I first laid eyes on a piano...I sat on the bench, played soft melodies...I really thought I was playing like a good musician... people who heard me that day urged my folks to get me a piano and lessons, because they knew I had a gift....sadly, I was told otherwise... my prayers went unanswered, so I gave up and believed the cruel words my folks said to me....I got married, but working full time, a bad car accident made taking music lessons impossible but my son was 4 when he began playing....he was around 7 yrs old when he played Warsaw Concerto....wow...but kids made fun of him as he was small framed, wore very thick glasses....but he loved playing the organ and piano...I was given a beautiful 178 almost 6 ft grand piano, Boston/Steinway my husband gave me on Valentines day....he was convinced would help me deal with the unexpected sudden death of my lifelong dearest friend...and is when I began my journey w learning to play piano...I posted a video on my YT ch...Prelude in C major for my dying cat....she loved sitting near me whenever I played, she was always there. I learned to play it in 2 months and played for church services...everyone at church was surprised that I knew how to play piano, flawlessly, but i always am nervous as playing in front of an audience,...piano recitals are very important. We too live in Oregon...just a few hundred feet south of Boring Oregon line....love it here...and YES it rains a lot but I don't care! I love the green and country living.
Such beautiful music. I'm writing piano music as well, and every day I seem to fall more in love with how pure this instrument truly is. Thank you for you wonderful compositions!
